What up fellow mobsters !
I don't quite know if this will be allowed.
Just a quick question for everyone and looking for some honest feedback.
Any body a pot head on here and have success playing cards ?
I'm a big smoker and am starting to realise I may be impacting my results quite a bit. I mean I win money most days but I seem to only even out at the end of the month.
Not too sure but I think I have to at least try to play sober.
Oh well maybe this will my test for September and onwards.

I don't have anything against a small "enhancement" to ones relaxation skills while playing but unfortunately i can't speak by experience of smoking while playing poker coz for some years my local "shop" is ...well... unavailable
Still I would say it's probably a worst distraction to your game to have the tv on or talking to people at the same time... Back in the day i used to be more focused while smoking pot ( perfect focus but only at one thing at a time lol, great to watch a movie or play a game imo) so if ur a regular smoker it probably wont affect ur abilities to the point of making you lose money.. this if u consider urself to play reasonable/good poker that is.

oh btw i think playing poker while having cannabis influenced mediation sessions makes your playing style hard to read...similar to uber drunk russians i guess

I don't smoke nearly as much as I used to but have played while stoned before, both online and live. Really, I can't say that it made any difference to my game one way or another. Just so long as you don't smoke so much that you can't stay awake I don't see there being any problem.
It's not as if it's the same as being drunk which most definitely will impact on your game. If you're stoned you can still reason properly. If you're drunk you can't. Well, that's how it is for me anyway.
Also you say you even out at the ene of the month. Bear in mind that break even is way better than the majority of players manage, despite what they might tell you.

I've never played poker while being drunk, but I imagine it wouldn't be good! Swilling the liquid courage would probably make you play really loose and foolishly....
On the other hand,....I've played poker occassionally before while being buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzed on killer bud, and I find it makes you really get into it.... It never seemed to impare my judgement...
I like smoking weed while doing just about anything......even smoking weed while smoking weed....

Wouldn't even think to do something like that while playing or while doing anything else would require one to focus or use their thought process. It would be preferred over alcohol since Ireally think booze detours an individual more.

I know alchohol is bad for your bankroll even if temporarly you can get some good results but on long term it's not worth it.
As for drugs i have no idea, but if they affect the way you think it's not good. I think something that relax you could do the trick, i mean you could concentrate better.

Depends on what games you play and for how long. Cause at the end you need some clarity and some times fast decisions which isnt the case when you are under an influence. Just experiment with play money and eight tables for once for example. That will give you an idea on your reactions, kinda, since its play money.
moderation is the key here for me...too much and headin for the bed. It tends to highten my intuition and helps me isolate where my injuries still are. Sometimes the pain is all over a certain area and pot isolates the origin. As for playing, it's all good, Tends to calm me down and be more patient. Don't do pills, hard drugs, or alcohol. Get very sick after drinking...especially beer...always have. So in my case it's the lesser of most evils ,

If u smoke weed what happend to your mind? If u are ok then smoke and play , but i think that concentration when u use weed is not on same level as u are clear mined Its all about your concentration in poker

It's like everything else it affects people differently. Wouldn't recommend a novice get blasted and then play poker or whatever. There is a fine line between just right and crossing it. A veteran smoker (should) knows this and partakes accordingly.

I think weed is definetly the "best" drug to smoke while you play poker because it probably won't make you do stupid over-agressive plays where you lose your whole stack on a stupid K high hand like most drunken donks do. I also think it's better to play sober cause then you can't make yourself excuses when you make stupid mistakes, you just gotta learn from them. But in the end I don't think a winning player who played millions of hands would become a losing player just because he starts smoking weed. This kind of player knows instinctively how to react to typical situations, polarised situations etc. We should ask nanonoko to try smoking before he plays a 24 tables + session

Never tried it myself but I'm not sure how it would go. Probably bad for me anyways, even though I often find myself very focused, usually it's on some unimportant (and yet seemingly fascinating) detail.

Well you cant determine when to be focused or not. So at some point you may be trying to, with one failed attempt after another. And there, is where you will have to quit playing for sure. But can you do it at that point and save your bankroll?
