Have a dismal NLH record so don't tend to play much of it. Late last evening decided to try it out. Was searching the PS lobby and found the Hot $3.30 starting at 1 am. Thought ...Ok let's give this a try. Found a .33 BI satellite for this tourney and registered. Cost me .93 with the rebuy and add on and got the ticket Smile
Managed to hang in until the 120 min late registration closed. By then there were over 3100 runners and 1100+ runners left. The cash zone started at 396. Finished 120 for $12.00 and change a little over 4 hours in. So all in all it was +ev, by managing to acquire the ticket at a discount.
Have another $3.30 ticket in the bank, earned that one passing the MTT quiz...might try this again sometime.
Other than being card dead most of the way, the level of play was great. Far superior to what one sees and experiences playing free rolls...at least in my case, as lady luck tends to leave me in the lurch playing free rolls.
My BR was down to $5 last week until cashing for 6th in a .55 BI for $40.47...maybe just maybe it's turning around for me playing NLH, becoz August was nothing short of horrible...we'll see. Smile

RDBFLYBOY...well done on your success. It can be very disillusioning to keep missing out on games, but when the chance comes to make a profit all the bad feelings go away....just remember that you arent Phil Hellmuth or Negreanu just yet and keep it real!

Besides not being Phil Hellmuth or Daniel Negreanu remember your playing on-line poker against a lot of players that don't play with a lot of character. It just means you play tight and patient in attempt to out lasting the badbeats and if you lose to a good hand then accept it.

It's just not like playing live!

Thats a pretty good result, lets hope you'll do even better on the next one Big Smile

It's weird that you posted about the difference you noticed between the style of play on paid tournament and freerolls, the difference can be huge. And it's good that on paid mtt you can apply a poker strategy on freerolls you need to gamble to make a stack.

Thx for all the positive feed back....it's well appreciated Smile Couldn't play last nite as we had a massive thunder storm here and it knocked out the power city wide.... the flooding is incredible. Shock
Going to keep pluggin away at the MTT's. Going to try ten to see what kind of average they produce.
There's a good variety of them to choose from...My goal is to hit itm, then, try for the FT, sometimes make it,but short stacked, there's been the odd time where it all comes together and hit the top three.
@ Teddy...know and understand downswings as well has how to play short stacked. Pretty well know how to take a beat...have had so many of them, now see them as a normal part of the game. Don't tend to be very lucky so have to play smart (lol) and take what comes. Smile
As is said " keep on keeping on".

That worked out like tectonic plates building up stress over a long period of time... Not much going on then BAM....it all lets go.... but in your case.... you got an avalanche of CASH...!!!

Certainly a nice haul for the investment... I've never had a win with a ratio to buy in like THAT... Thumbs Up

Could you imagine if the buy in was like....the Big $11 tourney.... Shock
