Full Tilt promotion Take 2 (take 2)  0
The "Take 2" promotion is back on full tilt. See http://www.fulltiltpoker.eu/promotions/take-2:

Running from Friday, September 27th through Sunday, October 6th, 2013, opt in to Take 2 and play at least two standard ring game tables at the same time or any Rush Poker table to receive double the Full Tilt Points. Play as often as you can during Take 2 and we’ll also reward you with up to $10 in cash.

Earn up to $10 in Cash

The more you play during Take 2, the more you’ll earn:

Level 1: Earn at least five Take 2 bonus points on any five days during Take 2 and receive $5 in cash
Level 2: Earn at least five Take 2 bonus points on nine of the ten days during Take 2 and receive an additional $5, for a cumulative total of $10

It not as good as the one from last april, where the bonus was $25, but still nice enough.

However, back in April the rake on full tilt was $0.01 for every $0.15 in the pot, and now it's a bit better at $0.01 for every $0.20 in the pot (see http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/poker/rake).

So it may well be a better promotion after all... (did not do the math)

If the rake was 0.15 like you say on April, then now it will be harder to get the points required,
for the promotion. And wonder why they did it now with 10$. Not much cash in their cashiers yet?

True, but bonusses are a form of rakeback. Less rake is always a good thing, since you'll have more profit while clearing the bonus.

But sure, you'll have to play more hands to gather the required points, but 5 points per day is easy enough even on the lowest stakes.

I think the $25 in April, may have lost them some money, and with the lower rake that would have been even more expensive...

Does anyone understand how the bonus points for this "take 2" promotion are actually calculated?

I'm asking because there is a significant difference between the points shown in my "Edge status" page, with those shown on the "take 2" promotion page... (see screenshot). And all points were generated while playing two tables simultaneously.

Also in one particular session on two tables, there was a combined $0.17 rake taken from 2 of my hands, which should have made me 0.85 FTPs (and 0.85 FTPs for my opponent in those hands). On my other table there was no rake in any of my hands at all. This session, did not show up at all in the take 2 page...

Is it that they only count the table with the least amount of rake generated or something?

I am pretty sure i can explain easily marqis the reasoning, while the 99.9 % of the stuff in
Full Tilt Poker were clueless about that and their terms about the promotion were cloudy, since
they had to had this TERM about the promotion with capital bold letters :

You only start to win points for the Take 2 Promotion when you have RAKED in at least
2 tables. The point counting starts after that.
Example : If you play in 2 tables, you have raked 3$ in one and 0$ in the other, you are not
getting a single Take 2 point. The points will start counting exactly after you get a raked hand
in a second table.
So make sure you rake at least the minimum in 2 tables, as soon as you sit down
in order not to miss many points out of it, in your next hands.

Those were the rules when i last participated in the Promotion.
And it took me a while to figure out.

Now they have changed the rules, and have added even more.
Read this which might be a reason too :
Points are awarded based on three minute periods of play.
At least a fraction of a Full Tilt Point must be earned on both tables during
each three minute period for bonus points to be awarded.

And here is the new rule for more than 2 tables :
If a player plays at more than two standard real-money ring game tables
simultaneously during Take 2, that player will receive double points from the
combination of the two tables where they earned the most
Full Tilt Points during each three minute period of play.

As you can see you must rake in two tables now in every 3 minute periods.

It's a nice promo, even if it's not as good as the last take 2 one.

But as always on these type of rake promotions i would never suggest to do one just for this bonus, i mean if by your normal play you earn enough is cool if not it's not worth to switch to another game or higher limit just to complete it.

Thanks for that Mober! This explains a lot...

This means my strategy of playing 1 6-max table with my normal game, and full attention, and another table full ring, playing very tight, with much less attention, is not working well.
I switched to two 6-max tables, this morning, which indeed worked much better, with over 85% of the generated points actually counting towards the take-2 bonus.

I noticed that gathering the required points was much harder, than the last time, I now know why...

Too bad they changed these conditions, but at least I'm winning a little bit, and even getting decent returns if you add the bonus to that.

Seeing the cancellation of almost all the freerolls, and such changes in this promotion
with the biggest one the decrease from 25$ to 10$ along with the number of players,
its not hard to understand that things in FT didnt go as expected.
At least so far.

I suppose that's a fair assessment. Too bad though, I kind of like the site more than Party Poker and Pokerstars...

Today was a good day, Take-2 wise. Now that I know how the bonus points are calculated, and adjusted to two 6-max tables, there was little difference between the regular and bonus FTPs (5.86 vs 5.53 is only about a 5% deficit).

Since the start of the promotion, I've cleared the first $5, and made $4.50 profit as well, with a 24 bb/100 win rate (which is an excellent win rate for me).

I like this Promotion. It is verry easy to get this double points and bonus money from FullTilt. And for players which play multitabling, it is the easiest way to get some extra bucks.

Just finished it...

Happy with the results: I made $12.42 from the tables (just by playing until the required 5 points were scored each day), with an average of 24.53 bb/100 win rate, and cleared the $10 bonus.

A very nice promotion this was. I think there were lots of players trying to clear it, but were not focused on playing a solid game, because the tables were incredibly soft. Smile

------------
A quick calculation:

In this promotion, I generated 65.9 FTPs (some days I needed almost 10 FTPs to generate the 5 required bonus points).

You get 1 FTP for every $0.10 cents rake you pay. This means that during the promotion Full Tilt got $6.59 worth of rake from me. And yet they pay me a $10 bonus...

This means that I got 152% rakeback... Pretty sweet...

I think Full Tilt only makes money if you play more than the required points, and a large percentage of the players do not participate in the promotion...

Wow Margis great winrate on top of the bonus and your winnings, you a good player, keep it up and crush all the donkeys there lol.

Anyway what software are you using the graph that you attached to this post, I never saw it before, it is not Poker tracker nor holdem manager. Please tell me what software you using or is it a browser thing?

Also a pretty sweet rakeback, cheers happy for you, what tier are you currently on Full tilt poker?
I am guessing at least silver tier, you get rake back too, every friday.

Anyway congratulations again, keep crushing!!

Thanks!

It is Hold'em manager 2, but I changed the color scheme, because I found the dark background less clear...

I'm not even bronze; I wasn't playing much cash lately, because of the BRM leaderboard. After finishing 3rd on that, I've lost a bit of interest, because it costs so much time every evening.

This promo was a welcome change.
