Don't ever make this mistake LS of MTT  0

I'm kicking myself right now. I should been Big Stacked right now as chip leader.

Holding AJo I called a 3x blind raise. Flop was KQc 9d. He checks, I check behind.

An Ace of spades hits the turn.

What should you do? JAM IT All In!

I ended up talking myself into thinking they had KQ or a flush draw with a 10 and chickened it, then the river came - Jh.

Now I have two pair where any 10 gives a nut straight. I know he doesn't have AQ or AK.

I raise half pot, he shoves, and I'm committed to call the extra 30k. He has trip jacks.

In these late stages, NEVER check such a good turn even on an action board especially if bigger stacked. Jam it as fast as possible then you will finish top 2 and $100+, not 5th for $45.

G'day mate

Well I have been there and when I jammed it all in the pot like you say I still got called and still lost.
Personally I think that if the game decides to deal you a cooler hand you are going to 99% take it in the aS$ the 1% of the time you do not is when you somehow fold the damn hand.
Hope you have better luck next time amigo.

Yeah I agree, I mean he had one out, it was hellish unlucky, but I feel in that spot an AI shove is better than passively checking, as I can make then think I have a better hand even if I don't and put them to the test.

I had the other J Smile - but if you include possibilities of 10's hitting the turn, it's a chop anyway.

Looking back the decision you wanted to take would have definately keep you in the game.

But on this type of moves i also think a bit of history with the villain also helps a LOT to make a good decision.

What position were you? If you were on the button then I don't like the smooth call there with AJo 5 handed. I would prefer a 3bet pre flop in that spot, because if your opponent 4bets or shoves then you know your AJ is probably behind. Information has a cost sometimes Blink

Well you are certainly correct that information on the villain is truly a powerful tool and a preflop 3 bet can give you needed intel. sometimes it does cost you to get the all important intel about where you are most likely at in the hand.
The cost of information can sometimes have a very high cost, but that cost can really pay off when it allows you to make the correct call and lose less or make a lot more Smile
Hope he does better next time.
