In my honest opinion, the issue of luck versus skill is dependant on your position and the stage of a given hand. If you have a pocket pair and you raise to which everyone folds, then you used skill to prevent others calling. Of course you need a little bit of luck that no one did call with a better hand.
If you have a suited pair and call or raise, you are using skill to influence the decisions of others to call or not. When the cards come, it is luck as to what lands on the table. It's then over to skill how you play your hand..... And a little luck as to how others respond...etc.
When you are all in PRE flop, or at anytime really, your skill is aimed at encouraging others not to play, but if thy do, then a huge chunk of luck s then needed!
This said, some people just rely on skill, whereas lots of people rely on luck.....BINGO!

Nice thread lots of helpful thing but I disagree luck depends on the card distribution, if you get AA and push and got called by KK and they hit their set and you lose you cannot do anything about it as it was the cards was already distributed in their favor to win.
So skill is the primary thing to consider. Good luck!
