i don't understand how some people can justify their play, i play freerolls the same way as i play proper tourneys.. i know a lot of people crack up with bad play(me being one of these people) but i would love to know what goes on in peoples heads whilst they are playing poker
i have come up against a lot of players in BI games who play the same as some people do in freerolls, in my opinion if you are going to put your time and effort into playing a game whether it be a freeroll or a buyin game you may as well play your A game..some people complain about russians, but players from various parts of the world play terrible, reason it seems as if it is Russians all the time is probably due to the size of their country and there are probably more of them online.
back to the point though how can people justify calling off all their stack with terrible cards i have the following example to show what i mean, i don't think i played it wrong in any way,
PokerStars Hand #106761626803: Tournament #807505109, Freeroll Hold'em No Limit - Level I (10/20) - 2013/11/09 20:07:55 WET [2013/11/09 15:07:55 ET] Table '807505109 914' 9-max Seat #8 is the button Seat 1: Vie4a (1214 in chips) Seat 2: deano40118 (1022 in chips) Seat 3: etestyk (3634 in chips) Seat 4: Helio Vegas (1268 in chips) Seat 5: bezerdicova1 (1142 in chips) Seat 6: duuurrrmonty (1200 in chips) Seat 7: JoniBlanD007 (3520 in chips) Seat 8: A2345maybe (2278 in chips) Seat 9: sergen60 (1538 in chips) is sitting out Vie4a: posts the ante 4 deano40118: posts the ante 4 etestyk: posts the ante 4 Helio Vegas: posts the ante 4 bezerdicova1: posts the ante 4 duuurrrmonty: posts the ante 4 JoniBlanD007: posts the ante 4 A2345maybe: posts the ante 4 sergen60: posts the ante 4 sergen60: posts small blind 10 Vie4a: posts big blind 20 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to A2345maybe [As Qs] deano40118: folds etestyk: folds Helio Vegas: calls 20 bezerdicova1: folds duuurrrmonty: raises 20 to 40 JoniBlanD007: folds A2345maybe: raises 200 to 240 sergen60: folds Vie4a: folds Helio Vegas: folds duuurrrmonty: calls 200 *** FLOP *** [Jd 7d Qh] duuurrrmonty: bets 956 and is all-in A2345maybe: calls 956 *** TURN *** [Jd 7d Qh] *** RIVER *** [Jd 7d Qh 7s] *** SHOW DOWN *** duuurrrmonty: shows [4c 7c] (a full house, Sevens full of Jacks) A2345maybe: shows [As Qs] (two pair, Queens and Jacks) duuurrrmonty collected 2478 from pot *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 2478 | Rake 0 Board [Jd 7d Qh 7s Jh] Seat 1: Vie4a (big blind) folded before Flop Seat 2: deano40118 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 3: etestyk folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 4: Helio Vegas folded before Flop Seat 5: bezerdicova1 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 6: duuurrrmonty showed [4c 7c] and won (2478) with a full house, Sevens full of Jacks Seat 7: JoniBlanD007 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 8: A2345maybe (button) showed [As Qs] and lost with two pair, Queens and Jacks Seat 9: sergen60 (small blind) folded before Flop
in this position i would have folded preflop, although they do say any 2 cards can win and this theory has been proven correct, but over all it isn't going to pay off and if you want to be making any form of money you are obviously going to have to do some studying and learn the game a bit better.
I can justify my play, but how can he? and in theory how can anyone justify their play, especially when calling along to river with A high which happens a lot.

to try and understand the logic of some players is a waste of time. they call with nothing and when you question how they can call, the same answer comes all the time 'its a freeroll man'. really winds me up as well, should play a freeroll the same as any other game

A lot of Players in freerolls are "playing" with Frustration and without a plan. He goes all in every Hand and try to double up at the beginning. And if they loose, they try the next one.

i can win and have won at quite a lot of freerolls, but i play them the exact same way as i play a $100 BI, but i just want to try and understand why all of us actually make calls that we do and why some of us play as bad as we do

How do you justify your play?
Hey grahamy,.....I agree about playing 'some' freerolls just like you would in buy in games...
'Some' being ones where leaderboards are concerned,...or decent money prizes,....like the 100Ks and the EPTLives....etc....
When it comes to Hubbles and the like,...I just shove until I lose because they have 9000 entrants,.....are chock full of multiple accounts,....and they all play like assholes anyway...
Justification for the way them idiots play....? ......NONE,....they can't 'justify' it...because they have $H!T for brains....
