Gus Hansen had reached a lifetime milestone at FT, $16 million. Unfortunately for him, in the red. After losing more than $8 million last year, he is already down more than $1 million in 2014. I guess he should stick to tourney play for a while.

That's why all the liquid poker money is useless unless its withdrawn. That's an ungodly downswing, I mean really the guy should be begging on the streets, but he's Gus and no doubt knows how to keep a meal in front of him.
Surely even with all his winnings he's not got $16M covered??? Oh well, shows even the best of them can just lose their s**t. I don't think even Blom has been on downers like that.
The reason why Gus loses so much money online is not because he is a bad player in general, but because he insists on playing in the biggest nosebleed games against the best players at the moment and yeah he is not the kind of player who will stick to bankroll management when choosing games to play...

I have a book for sale - Gus Hansen: Every Hand Revealed (2008). Anybody interested?
His monthly income and rakeback from FT probably got this covered, so I think hes even but somebody should send him a BRM freeroll invitation, he'll need every sense of achievement he can get.
Haha!
There's no way he's covered for $16M on the site...that's not loose change, that's a fortune. Sure he's sponsored and all but if he isn't blowing his own dough he's blowing FTP.
Unless the guy has the most understanding stakers or has made some highly prudent investments away from poker he is fucked.

i think the story of gus hansen will have a tragic ending
guys been chasing his losses for years and losing more and more each year, he deffo has a problem he cant control and while he is recognised as a pro this cant be a good thing for someone in his situation and i dont think he can accept his problems. i think the one lesson gus hansen has to teach is that we should quit while were ahead.
to the guy who wins everything and then throws it all away

hats off to the record holder, what a proud cunt he probably is- not every dude from the street can say that he has lost $16 millions next thing Gus should do is to order a "one of a kind" t-shirt with the statement of intent: "i lost $16 millions- top that you loser" and walk in in day and night

Well , I m not really sure thats all clear. Some other players have to lost a lot, like Tom Dwan and Viktor Bloom. I,ve read somewhere that Tom lost 7 millions in one session in high roller table in Macau with some chinese businesmans but in other hand I,ve read thah a couple weeks ago he won 25 millions there in one night. but all these king of stuff seems very speculative for me and maybe all we can see from the medias its obviously not the whole true.

This is really surprising to learn that a player of this calibre has lost this much. When he first came on the scene he looked like he would take over the poker world but this is a crazy amount of money to lose. He must have some wealthy backers to keep staking him

Thats some bog amount there to lose. But is it Full Tilt the one site he plays online poker? And how much money he has after all, to allow him keep playing like that? I hope he has something in his pocket for the worst days and not all available for playing.

Gus Hansen was one of my top three players to introduce me to world of poker and for I always will admire and respect him.But recently I cant spot really good news for him.Seems to be in huge downswing without stop.Just small flashes ,like 250K of winnings, looks like a drop in his ocean of losses.End of on era perhaps?About bankroll management, don't know his resources but if he finally runs out of them ,i 'm pretty sure that poker community would spark tons of rumors.
