This is an incredibile payout for a freeroll and i have seen a lot less prize money for actually winning a Tournament. You must have played well or got very lucky because these freerolls are all in minefields and the luckiest person normally wins

yea i also tried playing them but i dont think theres been a single hand without someone shoving, usually its at least 2 people shoving lol
so i usually just try to double up 2-3 times sitout and go do something else instead, winning 30-40c, or if i have time i go back to it once theres like 2k people left and start playing seriously from there.
you just dont have to take it too seriously and afterall its free, so if you cash out (and in your case u got 100$ for free, and still bitchin -.-) its basically free money so i dont see why would anyone complain about it really.
also, later stages are usually rather decent and its a good practice for normal mtts. Thats if you manage to survive first... umm 20k people (lol) though, but it does get much better and less donky, and becomes much more of a normal tourney

i hate them freerolls myself, i personally hate cashing in freerolls its a kick in the nuts when you been paying into loads of decent games hoping for a good run and the bam you win a freeroll, i came 3rd in a freeroll on partypoker for $20 and in my head all i though was for +6000 runners i would of got 4 figures on any other day.

no, you most likely wouldnt get to 4th place that easy, people play with completely different mentality when it comes to freerolls (aka its free, i can donk as much as i want and if i get lucky, great if not it was free afterall)
i think you could compare those 20k players freerolls to ... 1-2k tops normal mtts because serious play only starts when theres like 10% players remaining

obviously there are exemptions with high value my biggest free-roll cash is $225 for 1st in a BRM free-roll (from the Christmas calendar) on PKR but the value of that tournament was really high (about $20 i think) because it was restricted to 50 players. also some loyalty tournies on other sites can be pretty decent to cash in.
but battling through 20000 players up too 5 time times a day for a possible $400 up top (once or twice in a lifetime) is just not worth the effort in my opinion. and if you can come first out of 20000 players then you should be spending your time playing for much better money in the first place, not wasting you life and talent playing these freerolls.

Dude u just won hundred bucks. Stop bitchin, nobody hold a gun to your head to participate... Its really a basic promo to get more small timers into deposit and/or make rake more frequently for them. Nothing fishy here.

It is just created as an additional opportunity to make money; and it's treated as a not neccesary cash-in tournament for most players.
I've played about 20 times last month this freeroll, and noticed that many (russian) players are just simply rush first 3 levels , to make all-in pre flop with average hand like KJo ; and then playing a little bit tighter but make pressure on short stacks.
It is just about build up your stack at first 3-4 levels, so therefore more reasonable play begins.
you are doing great to come in 3rd! I always bust from them with bad beats I raise to 600 and he shoves I have KQ suited so of course I call he shows kj he shoves me with fn kj and makes 3 jacks! this is what happens to me in these damn freerolls so trust me 3rd is great!!

I love these freerolls tbh, at least in these ones you can actually bag good money. Ofcourse its tough to break to the early stages in these games, its a freeroll its normal its like playing bingo. But when you build a nice stack and the majority of bingo players has been busted then the comp is actually pretty nice. I've seen these first places go up to 350 at one point. That's insane for a freeroll.
