I don't feel special, but obviously PokerStars have selected me to be an alpha tester. But the procedure is: first PokerStars have to email you and ask you if you want to be the special 'guy' chosen by them who will test their new PokerStars Alpha 7.

Nobody asked me if I agree! Nobody emailed me! I just logged in the softare. It said: "There is a new version, you have to update it" and BOOOM I got it. But it is fulled of bugs! I don't like it! For example if you want to write to the support from the client, all the letters are "swimming" and moving like crazy, apearing and disapearing. To write a text is almost impossible. There are other bugs as well.
But definately I would feel better if first PokerStars asked me if I want to be a part of all this! Then I should think about it. But they just did it, without asking!

The upgrade focuses on improving the poker lobby with some additional table enhancements.
PokerStars is recruiting players for an alpha test program of its next major software upgrade, “PokerStars 7.” The upgrade is scheduled for release later this year.
A select group of players has received emails inviting them to apply to participate in the test program. Players will download a separate alpha test poker client and will be asked to “try the new software, report any bugs and provide general feedback on specific features and functionality.”
According to the invitation email, the main changes are in the lobby: “… affecting how you choose your game, rather than in the server or on the tables. You shouldn’t notice any difference in the games or tournaments themselves (although we have made a few improvements to the table user interface).”
The test client is a full PokerStars client, so players will play their usual games for real-money. A Mac version is not available, and testers must sign up for a twoplustwo account and fill out an application form in order for their application to be considered.

BAD PokerStars...BAD...!!! Very naughty of them to invade your computer with that...glitches and all...! Tell them your professional time is worth $200 per hour, plus disbursements and expenses...!
By the way....wtf are you doing up at 5:00am...? I hope you're listening to Pascal's music...!

I already have sent them the price list. Day hours, night hours and I am waiting my PokerStars salary.
Hey Demo, PKR gave me 5000 points, so I bought 30 SNG tickets. I won most of those SNG, then I sat at the cash tables and I made $40. So I converted 5000 PKR points into $40 real money!
Plus I played a long tournament at FullTilt Poker and I won $5. And now I see it is almost 7:00 a.m OMG, I have to go to bed now!

You didn't just click "accept" did you? That would be so irresponsible....
Hey Marqis, it was just a regular update message as always! You know all these update messages by PokerStars, right? When you logg in, a message appears that there is a new version and you have to update it. I didn't have any options to choose to update or not! The only option was clicking the update, otherwise it wouldn't be possible to logg into to PokerStars client.
Yes, I clicked accept, but this was the only option to logg in.
I didn't see any Terms & Conditions! Always I read the Terms & Conditions but this time there wasn't any T&C! PokerStars have sent me a link to 2+2 poker forum where they have created a special thread about PokerStars 7, I registered today there, I activated my account, but I am not permitted to read this thread! It seems this is a private thread created by PokerStars on that 2+2 forum. Now they will send me the password and will have more info about this PokerStars 7 Alpha.
By the way, they don't pay anything if you are a alpha tester. You work just for the glory and the fame!

Hello, Hope they wont change it. I like this one better. Its the best Lobby from all those poker platform. And i see that i wont like the Pokerstars 7. Hope they wont change it since its very very very BAD.

Yeah congratulations on being selected to be an alpha tester, do you know why they choose you, is it because of experience or something? or the way you plays or you have fill out the survey in sort. Anyway have fun testing it for them, knowing a mobster is testing poker stars i will definitely stay and play at the pokerstars room.

Hey Heskor, I don't have any idea why they chose me! But probably it is possible to be a software mistake as well I have never filled in any survies about PokerStars 7. No way to work for them. The Bulgarian Department of PokerStars is situated in London! It is too far from home!
But I received an email how to go back to PokerStars 6. It is very difficult. I have to uninstall the new software first, to delete a lot of PokerStars folders and then reinstall the previous one. I hope I can do it. They have sent me instructions how to do it.

I think to reinstal PokerStars 6 and play there as regulary because that work is not paid and I think I will deny to do it!
Heskor, I see you are interested at this subject, so I will tell you a secret: If you love to play at PokerStars, it is not good to work there. Yes, the salaries are huge and the benefits as well, but the PokerStars employees are NOT allowed to play for real money. They can play only for play money. If you are sitting at a play money table with someone from the Isle of Man, this is a PokerStars employee!
The PokerStars employees have once or twice a year live private poker tournaments, but the prizes are NOT For example if you reach the final table and if you win, the prize could be one week vacation at the Bahamas or a personal meeting with the PokerStars owner where you can stay few days in his house with his family.
So, if you work there, forget about PokerStars real money tournaments and tables. At Party Poker and Titan Poker (PlayTech Software) the system is the same. Only PKR employees are ARISTOCRATS. They are allowed to play for real money and even more they have private tournaments where they can play. But they are allowed to play against players as well!
Plus the employees every week have tests. They have to pass the tests. 100 questions and you have to answer at least 80 questions correctly! If you answer 79 questions correctly, you are FIRED! These tests are every week my friend! Trust me I studied at the university and I am a very good student. It was easy for me. But these poker tests can not be compared to any university in the world! Very complicated. I am trying to say studying at the university is much more easy that studying at a poker company!

Hey qzmag, I am not so sure, but I think next month everybody will have this new version of PokerStars! I really hope to be wrong! Now only some players are testing it.

Tell them that you didnt choose to participate, you are traumatized of how bad the new software is, and for all this you went through you need a compensation, probably in a for of a new bankroll

It's good that they want to improve but frankly they already had the best poker software out there after FTP so i'm not sure if this is a smart move...
Anyways the testers need to support all the glitches, i hope they will get something for their "effort"

PETER... You should fell special, so please don't feel like you are not special...... To us at BRM and of course Pokerstars, you arRylery special. Consider....not everyone gets chosen to have crap downloaded onto their computer to the point that you can't play poker!
And of course you can claim now to be an ALPHA TESTER!
