Hi all,
In this thread I will keep you updated with my bankroll. I play at DP and I started there a few months ago with the brm-bonus of $5. The highest I ever had my bankroll was almost $10. I hope to achieve these goals in at least 2014...: --------------------------------------------------
A bankroll of: $ 5 [not done ] A bankroll of: $10 [not done ] A bankroll of: $25 [not done ] A bankroll of: $50 [not done ] A bankroll of: $100 [not done ]
Get a rakeback (worth $10): [not done ]
Finish as first in an mtt: [not done ]
Don't go broke: [DONE ] --------------------------------------------------
Current bankroll: $1,77 and T$0,15
I won't play in any cash games because it looks like I lose all my money with it, so I will update every tournament/SnG I played. Until my bankroll is big enough I won't play with the goal of making the most money per hour, but just to make profit (sometimes hard enough...).

Hi, GL in achieving your goals. It is nice to have some goals during play but don't let them to have to much influence to your game.Just be calm and discipline.I also start with small free bankroll few years ago and managed to make some nice BR.

Very interesting blog set up with the thumb up's.
What is also interesting is your ground headed on your goals unlike other people(Including me) who post up not impossible but far away goals. The only problem is your small bankroll but that is not a real problem if you do not lose it and I start with low bankrolls myself.
Just stick to the main goal of not going busto and stick to bankroll management and you will be fine. I have lost many decent sized bankrolls to not following BRM so it should be stuck to at all times.
Also, get PT4 like I said in my thread; Good luck!

Lol the edit post i do not use it often but just keep posting your progress and some people will check it. I will check more often and good luck it is slow at first but once you get enough bankroll and you use the cash well it will be easy to make some money off poker. Cheers though it would be better to get more buyins as variance can be hard in the short term.

I wish you well in this venture and i for one will be keeping an eye on future updates. It is always nice to set yourself some goals in life or poker. I hope that you can reach at least one of your goals because it will drive you onto your next goal

I think I can reach the first goal at least. I'm reading the book: "Hold'em Poker For Advanced Players" by David Sklansky, I think it is a very difficult but really useful book, it contains a lot of information. It may improve my skills! (current br: $2,66)

I hear Dan Harrington's: Harrington on hold'em is a good book to read as well. I have it as an E-reader but have not yet read it for some reason. I have heard of that David Sklansky one, what does it focus on?

On cash (low-)medium cashgames, I want to learn playing them better. My plan is to build up a proper bankroll and then play medium/low cashgames if I've read the book, because you can earn money faster there I think. (current br: $3,96 )

What is the rake like in these nano-SNGs? If it's like on Ipoker (20%) then I'd stay away from it if I was you, no chance to beat that longterm even against horrible donks. In that case I'd just play without bankrollmanagement for a session and hope to get a decent bankroll to start grinding NL2 properly.
Other than that - GL
EDIT: about books - I've never read a poker book (got my content online only) but I know a bit about some books. Harrington is a good book if you want to play MTTs (the M-Zone-Concept is still applyable in games nowdays). Sklansky's book is a good book for mindset IMO (sklansky bucks, also applyable to "EV" .
For SNGs I'd suggest a book from collin moshman, he's providing very simple but effective content online, understandable for everyone knowing the rules and has somewhat basic knowledge, so I could imagine his books are just like that as well.

The rake is just as little as 10% on average or less. I'm happy about 2day: $4,32 and T$0,10
------------ I'm getting better in cash games, I won some and in some sng's as well. My current bankroll is: $5,52!
so, A bankroll of: $ 5 [DONE ]
------------ I'm doing better and better in cashgames, I think my sng's go worse than cashgames, my current bankroll is now $7,17
------------ doubled up with $1 in a cash game but finally went all-in with straight 9-K, someone calls with open-ended straightdraw and makes his straight 10-A with an "ace on the river" (that's a book).
I want to ask something to the ones who play in cashgames sometimes as well: How much rake is there on average in a pot? At DuckP it is somewhere near 5% of the pot size, is that a lot?
------------ Didn't go very well today... My bankroll is now down to: $3,88 It just seems like my last 20 all-ins were 18 bad beats!!!
A little tilt now due to the lost money, so no poker today anymore.
I hope you did better than me today, wish you the very best at the tables!

Do you know which is a good book or books for cash tables then? Mainly 6max if not both.
Doing well so far Pascal. Your bankroll is slowing going up even if slow but as long as it keep goings up your winning and reaching your goals, so keep it up.

Wow I just played a really good cashgame, I bought-in for $1, what is frankly too much for a bankroll of around $4, and quadrubled it! (I didn't know that word too, it means that you multiplied it with 4)

Short stacking is a good way for cash games if you do not have that great of a bankroll. I have had success with it myself a lot. Now you can keep pushing on.

At first i wish you good luck for your challenge. The fist levels are verry hard and it was not easy to reach the higher levels step by step. But it is good to collect some experience with the different games and gaming styles of the opponents.
