In March last year we reported that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) had seized property of the 2007 WSOP Main Event champion Jerry Yang to secure the payment of taxes, including a federal tax lien for $571,894.54, he had failed to pay. Yang's gold bracelet amongst other items were then auctioned off on April 4, 2013 at Revenue Service, Watt Avenue, Sacramento, California.

Looks like Jerry Yang has found out that he may have won the WSOP main event but the one person you can't beat is good old Uncle Sam. Since his 2007 win of $8million he has had a couple of decent cashes, best was a $75,000 heads up championship win and I see he had a 40th place for $11,000 at this years WSOP,so obviously still playing.

Haha love the thing you said about Uncle Sam and you right this is the only people you cannot fraud and sad Jerry Yang did not pay his tax he should have enough money to pay lots of tax with the winnings he have and should have paid and all this would be over and he could be enjoying his winnings rather than have problems with the tax police and so on. Anyway hope he pays up and we hears him for his exploit rather than missing tax payment!

Just goes to show that bankroll management is a must I personally wouldn't buy the watch because id feel like its cheating, sorta like i would want to earn it right? im sure im not alone on that. Its like when some low life loser broke into Duhamel's house in Quebec and stole his bracelet! The only way to get the gold is to win the prize boys and girls

They have a very, very odd tax implementation in US, i mean if th wsop is organized there why they don't take the taxes before they hand over the prize money.
I mean is much more easier to collect money right from the source than trying to collect them after that...

The watch or the trophy I understand but not people who sell their WSOP bracelets. Even if you have 20 and you're very rich you can't sell them as they are priceless and indeed that's my point of view about those bracelets, we do have arrogant people in this world...

This doesn't seem like an auction for me, as i am used to buy bargains, not expensive stuff. But i agree with giving this news as important, because collectors will have their eyes fixed on this. By the way, if anyone here is interested in Portuguese coins from the Republic...
