Best SnG on PokerStars?  0
Hello mobsters. Im creating this thread because I would like an advice regarding Sit'n'Go on PokerStars. Preferably NLHE Normal or Turbo at max, field size 45, 90, or max 180. Low stakes lets say from 0.50 to 4$ at max maybe 5 but im not sure yet. But also I would like to know which ones are somehow balanced without too many fishes. But without too many regs aswell. From my personal experience the lowest ones are filled with many newbies or just bingo players. That do not pay attention to the table, to other players. So excited to see your opinion or experience in this area. Thanks alot and regards

i used to play 2.5 $ NLHE Turbo 180 , i had some success , if i remember correctly i won 3 times 1st place 123$ each time and many top 5 finishes but i decided to focus on cash games
Turbo is dangerous , it is where hands like AJ , AQ become very strong and many people would ship all in with lesser hands thats why sometimes you have to call all-in with these hands , you just can't wait for premium hands since the blinds are going up so fast
if you are looking for a place where there aren't too many fishs , i suggest you play normal SnG

without too many fishes

If you ask for this then before finding the right format you should study poker overall first, and where players are even able to make any money off it.
One with a clue would choose a game full of fishes over any other game all day.

Then the next question is,how many tables are you looking to play at once? There is different traffic among the games/formats so playing just solely one format/buy in might not be enough.
Starting bankroll is also important, different formats have bigger/lower swings than others.

Overall I can only say I'll need more informations to give a specific good answer.

Thanks for reply. Multitabling is gonna be difficult. Since im often playing on smartphone. So not only suffering from the disadvantage of not having a hud that gives me alot of needed overall information. Relying on my read only. So I guess around 3 tables or 4 max. As the android version does not allows more then 4 anyway. Bankroll should be about 100-150 US $. The thing about fishes is that im trying to play quite TAG/LAG mixture.im trying to be sort of creative in this area.

I agree about the $2.50 180 man on stars it is a great tournament and really you don't get a lot of fish or idiots its mostly quality players the speed is not to bad i find and doesn't take to long to final table or take first.

Another of my favourites at a lower buy in are the 45 and 90 man $1 buy ins i find the 45 being regular speed is good for creative play as you put it and generally weeds out the fish as they prefer a more aggressive tournament (or the freerolls they are stuck playing). the 90 man is a turbo but i find more people go for the 180 so the 90 is usually some good play. Hope i have been helpful mate good luck on the felt Thumbs Up Agree

Thanks. Will give a try in the 2.5 180man. Its turbo right? Ive played a couple of 45 regular speed. But I dont know. It seems many fishes are in those at lower stakes. Because despite the normal speed of blinds. Many of the guys were playing way to aggro. And with really wide range. Well maybe will try them some more as they could be profitable. Without so much effort.

How can you guys seriously suggest him to grind $2.50 180s with this starting roll?! That's gonna be pure suicide for the roll, downswings up to 200 buy ins possible.
Better play $1.50 MTSNGs (12/18 player 6 max are very good, as well as 27 mans). Based on how you described your style of play, you'll be alot more successful at non turbos than turbos anyways.

Lol you asking for 0.50 to 4 $ games to play maybe 5 ...
Iff i were you and you are playing with 150
I used the math 150 :100 (= 1 % of youre bankroll)
Play 0.50 /1 $ games at max 1,50$

Iff you have 400$ you can start thinking about a shot at the 4$ buy-ins Big Smile Blink

If you have enough patience to grind 20BB in a turbo then I could suggest playing $1.50 50/50s. It's sensible for the roll and if you're willing to grind 30 minute games it can potentially be very profitable.

A lot of people use fish as a generic term for any bad poker play. However there are many types of bad players.

A table with multiple aggro donks usually results in most hands being mutli player all-ins. These games are high risk high reward games. if you survive for long enough your chances of ending high in the money improve but you chances of surviving to that point are quits low.

A table with multiple calling stations is much easier to survive the opening rounds even though you will lilkely win less money each time you cash. Since you are cashing more often though you are more likely to end up +ev with this type of table.

I think some of the advice from the above posters is very pertinent.

If you have limited time SnG's are certainly the way to go, if not look at a $1 MTT a longer game and a bigger potential return.

The 50/50 formats allow for a short game, limited bingo players and some good FPP's to be generated relatively quickly, with some assurance of a return although quite limited.

I think the KO format has a short paytable but a reasonable return, some of the 180's SnG's if you make the minimum money you earn 6% and these are not a good long term option unless you are playing a very consistent game, which may make you a bit of a fish and too predictable.

Re TAG/LAG have you tried 6 player cash PL Omaha, set realistic targets and stick to them, start around 05/10c 2 tables max take max ($5) to each table, reload up to $2.5, double your money and consider leaving before next BB (ie bank the profit) work your bankroll up to allow advancement to the next level etc etc, stick to these "rules" with few exception, say your on a real juicy table and doing well, with two very aggressive players that can not lay down it may be worth staying for a bit longer, pick your spots TAG, TAG, TAG, LAG to the max, trip up and depart.

Finally, FYI - My ex was "Sometimes LAG", shortens here to SLAG.
