where rthe hell does the term donkey come from when playing poker.i used to play free rolls down the pub when i first started playing,and people used to say it all the time.i found out what it ment one day,and after hearing it all night one game,i stood up in front of the whole pub,bout 40 players,and said look,the term donkey is being banned in this pub,cauz we all donkeys,otherwise we all would be playing at the casino for cash,not a freeroll for a voucher of a counter meal.needless to say it was never said again,we realise at that time we were all donks.ahaahhah so if anyone know the origins of this saying lets us know.i must admit,even the best players are donkeys some days.tell u what tho u seen the size of a donkeys donga,geeez i be a donkey any day.fish just swim.

Lol yeah a donkey represent stupid so i guess it's the answer, im not sure though.... And haha, nice comment about the freeroll guess ur right in some way...

You have to be happy there are donkeys! don't complain if sometime they win by luck! it is that you want in order to encourage them to play that way and give you easy money! Don't think in short terms! this is poker not chess... donkey always lose eventually

Yeah you're right, in tournament you do need people that go all-in with stupid cards, so you can double up you're points

i think that it comes from the word donkey because donkey is the most stupidest animal in this planet and the fishes are just like them.slow minded,stupid never learn and just fishes
Hehe.. played a fellow some time ago and he was blabing all the time ... can't say it effected me much... after a while we came to a head to head situation and i raised him and quickly typed him a messages and surly he replyed and i quickly sent a new one .... he became so bussy typing that he didn't pay attention to his timer and go timed out (i had nothing) hehehe... that's a DONKEY!

hahhahahahha sucked in to him.yes i bet he felt like a real ass.thats why i try to never say anything at the table,you gotta pay attention all the time.happenend to me but i had AAA,i did feel like a donkey.eeeaaaawwwwww
