I think its good, you dont have to teach her how to gamble, but the skill of poker, you can adapt some of you poker skill to life such as spoting a bluff/lie, maths and values, let us know when she wins the house of you :}

oh she goes to bed without fail at 9pm on the dot,every night,thats her routine,no fuss,she gets up at 8.30 9.00 in the morning.we start poker 6.30.if you put ya kid to bed at 6-6.30 they up at 6.-6.30.who wants to get up then.its a good routine.12 hrs sleep a day.
i learned how to play poker when i was 12..and started playing low blinds on the internet when i was 13... If she starts playing poker at 3 year old shes definetely privileged!!! And hahah yeah us girls have a big advantage
I think that a kid has to understand math before you can learn poker to them. So 10-12 would be the perfect age. Not earlier, life is not all about poker I guess.

my grand daughter is 10 years old and i teached her some omaha and now she plays it with my son some times.but i think that 9years-> is good age to start teaching some poker
Yeah I'd have to agree that 3 might be a bit young, although I don't see how it could really hurt - as long as you drive the fact that you can't gamble more than you're willing to lose - In my opinion she will probably get bored with poker by the time she's 6 or 7 - whereas if you waited, that would be a decent time to start teaching her, and she might be more likely to stick with it - I think it would be an excellent way to teach your kid about math - odds and percentages and what-not...they wouldn't even realize they were learning anything

Why not, i was teaching my nieces to play blackjack when they were 6/4, poker was not so popular then. It is better to know the game then not to. And yes like scl1975 said it can help you in life too.

i suggest u should teach ur child how to play poker when hes around 10 years old because first of all when ur child is very small he wont understand much strategies and will just go wild. when the child has realized the value of money, then he should be taught poker.

she plays with me not on her own,the missus is fine with it,we have talked about it.ill let he play on her own when i know she understands all the concepts about poker.she to little to understand money,still she got more in the bank then me,weve had a bank accoount for her since birth which gets money automatically taken out of our pays for her,which is held in trust till she 21 or if she needs it for study.amazing how quick it builds up.good for her future,you never know what life has in store,and i aint exactly rich so it will help her when she grows up.with the cost of everday living going the way it is,she gunna need it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfYYgY-tJqY check out liz she may favourite player and she hot,great player 2.
