Just read an article about russia planning to cut the internet off and was wondering what other mobbers thought of this as most sites are full of russians I reckon stars will be crapping tthem selfs if this happens cant put a link but just google it its says it could happen by feb gl at the tables all

Not for a second do i believe that it will happen, but it's pretty fucked that if 150 million people would lose a big part of their freedom and you guys think that the biggest problem is that the games get tougher....wow...

I remember the days without internet. Back in the early 90s ( at least from where i come from) when it started being available to the average user , very few people could predict the "addiction" it would start to be just a couple of years later. I for instance had very little usage to give it, with the exception of the casual porn that is Nowadays Everything is connected to it and in some cases completely dependent of its existence. Russia cannot cut off the internet. In one way or another every countries economy relies on it. They may, as the chinese do, create a very controlled version of it, to the point that in some cases it'll be more of a "big scale intranet" than anything else, but to cut off entirely the outside world at the stage that things are, its practically impossible imo.

You might find you start to care when they start taking on other countries one by one, till they reach Holland.

Anything can happen. Including this. Either with a completely cut off, or a big chunk of it. I like the fact that you find it imposible to happen
Things are a bit risky lately in the region, due to the "stupid" west poking its nose where it shouldnt and russia will try to use of course any means necessary to protect itself.
@icequeen. If they do so, it will be cause they have been provoked. Already west pushing it with the so called "sanctions", with USA of course being in the mddle of it.

Do you remember the days before the internet? What? There were days before the internet? Yup! And they were mighty fine days; days of reading books, going to libraries, going to pubs and hoping your mates would turn up.......without tracking their every move to make sure they do, or they tracking you...... We even had conversations! Wow! It'll never happen!

It is almost impossible... by all means, Putin COULD do it, as in there is nothing stopping him... but the world isn't the same place it was 60+ years ago. The moment he gets rid of the internet, Russia loses any kind of legitimacy - they become a rogue state with no say on anything.

I wouldnt call this invasion, military speaking of course. Did they attack? Yep they did. Why? Do you know the real reasons? I doubt. If they wanted they could conquer the whole country in a couple of days. And dont think for a seciond here that i am defending their actions.
pokerking why dont you give us the proof that russians shot down the plane. Cause obviously you know something that the rest of world just speculates and spreads rumours and theories. Do you want to hear another theory of the so called "conspiracy" ones? That one says that USA did it, to light the flame in the region Would that benefit the USA in ant way? Just give it a thought for a minute
You can hear everything these days. Hard to say what is true and what isnt....
