Trader and poker player Dan Shak is now officially a poker pro, with the news that he has been banned from trading. Shak is accused of trading in gold contracts he was serving a two-year ban for, and now the Commodity Futures Trading Commission want to ban him for life. His lawyer David Kovel commented to Bloomberg that: “It was a minor, minor, minor infraction. Yet they are treating him like a criminal.”

It seems he has been in trouble on a number of occasions,at one point his hedge fund had control of 10% of the US gold futures. The hedge fund was only worth 10 million dollars and yet he traded on 850 million dollars of gold contracts which obviously raised a few eyebrows and before then he was in trouble for manipulating oil prices. I wonder if those were minor,minor infractions as well.
