Some people have asked me why I do the Mahdrof Dollars tournaments, and the reasons are simple: I like you guys, I have gained a lot from participating on this forum, and it has been hard for me to participate in the BRM tourneys so by organizing it myself I get to play.
I initially joined five years ago, and like most of you the main reason was for the no deposit bonuses. I also visited the foru[...] Read more » Mahdrof Dollars and a Detour

You seem to have been pretty unlucky in a few big pots and this can really affect your confidence. i am glad that you withdrew some money and spent it. Good luck to you on your venture

What can I say Mahdrof, your a top bloke, not many people would even consider withdrawing 1/4 of their BR to help less fortunate people than yourself. Its always a hard time of year when we think about lost ones but knowing theres blokes like you giving to food banks make it a little easier, well done buddy...and good luck building your roll up again

Thank you for the positive feedback guys!
Just to clarify a couple of things from this blog post, the first Mahdrof Dollars tourney was held at 888 not Pokerstars, and it is my next $250 which I will be withdrawing. Last night I sat down to a NL100 table that looked interesting, with two regs who I am very familiar with and a host of unknowns - one of them with $250. I was getting into a groove when all of a sudden the 888 software started to screw up and everybody was getting disconnected including myself. After a while I left and went to Pokerstars which ended up being a good move I now have $1071 on 888 with $179 to go to reach my goal and go do some food shopping. Adios amigos

Maybe the 888poker gods are starting to smile at me. Last night with QQ on the button and a raise to $3 with two callers, I re-popped it to $13.37 and had a half-stacker call. With that much in the pot and with what he had left I knew that during post-flop play he would either fold or be all-in and that I wouldn't be folding no matter what. The flop came out and when he checked I bet 3/4 pot and he shoved so insta-call time. When the turn card came out I started to feel sick and was hoping for another diamond on the river and.... got it! Now sitting with $1125, another $125 to go.
