ias for E CIGs i read in a recent study, they are worse for health than normal ones! Smile

Sorry but that study was almost certainly b******t. For every study saying they are worse than tobacco I could find you 20 that contradict it.

doesnt look like BS to me, makes sense that smaller particles of "poison" can do more harm then larger.

http://metro.co.uk/2014/11/28/e-cigarettes-can-contain-...

"E-cigarettes are often billed as a ‘safer’ alternative to normal tobacco – but the vapour from the devices can contain 10 times as much cancer-causing poison as normal tobacco, a new study has found."

Can contain is not the same as does contain.
A new study has found. Note: A new study. That's one study amongst hundreds of studies that contradict it.

Bottom line is I know for sure that tobacco is harmful. Almost all studies claim that ecigs are less harmful. I'll go with the majority of experts rather than the minority.

Also if The Metro isn't going to name the brands or indeed the number of brands implicated the article is worthless. They say several, well that could be as little two couldn't it?

Remember this is The Metro we are talking about. It's not exactly noted for it's balanced journalism.

the real bottom line is: Anything is harmful my friend, im sure you know the "Placebo" effect, dont you think it goes both ways?

as for the reasearches in this age ... Take Marijuana for example and all those studies made against it... while reality is it benefits health alot, destresses you, keeps you calm, expands your creativity, you aint agressive f**k anymore, good sleeping etc... and the "good" drug alchocol on other hand which is legal everywhere in this world is by my experience the worst of all drugs, you can do xTc, speed, 3mmc, trip, smoke, name it, when go drink you will do more harm to your body than with any of those drugs... and yet scientist say otherwise Big Smile

Fck that what matters is how you feel. Make your own judgement if its healthier or not but as said, know the "placebo" is the most important part of all.

I'm certainly not claiming that ecigs are harmless I'm just pointing out that the vast majority of studies are saying that it's far less harmful than tobacco.

As for the alcohol v marijuana debate I couldn't agree more. I have one brother and three uncles that are all alcoholics yet I'm the one in the family that is vilified for smoking a bit of pot once in a while. Go figure eh?

Actually, no. Science classifies alcohol as a hard drug. It's just culture that deems it mostly harmless. And it's beside the point. Alcohol ruins many lives too.

As for smoking, I can't believe anyone still refutes the lethality of it. I suppose the reality of it is just too scary and confronting. If you are, stop deluding/killing yourself.

Even if ecigs were more harmful than cigarettes in the long run, they can help you stop smoking. After that, quitting ecigs might be a lot easier. It's +EV.

There was a study once about kicking addictions, that rated smoking the hardest one to quit, even a heroine addiction is easier to quit cold turkey... (It had to do with the high rate of regression).

Wish you well!

So i should stop deluding myself now while i dont want to quit smoking and will continue, just to be concerned with side effects all the time, be stressed anytime i light up a cig that i will DIE because of it, NO WAY MAN Big Smile I know people who smoke for 70 years and never got cancer and i am going to be that person Smile

And i know people who dont even drink Coffee due to health risks and are constantly sick, is people claiming how bad anything is and have more health issues then i ever had....

is not same for everyone, i will go on a hike in the mountains, often a walk in the woods, will be feeling just fine, some other person wont smoke but will remain behind their computer all day, wont do any sports and will be constantly sick.

There is more to health than just to avoid specific risks, like said the most important part is how you think!!! Dont be the guy who worries about getting cancer and constantly smokes, be the guy that smokes cause he likes to smoke and dont concern yourself with stuff which doesnt benefit you in anyway, like negative thinking about stuff u wont change.

when you say "you know people who smoke for 70 ..." that means that you dont know a lot of people .Exceptions are in all things in this world as ebola didnt killed some people becouse it was exception. But nobody is so stupid to dont know that ciggars and drinking to much coffe is very bad for the organism. You dont have to quit smoking becouse you heard that is not healthy , you will do becouse you wanna do without medical reasons.

what medical reasons if i am healthy and feel better than i felt at 20??? Didnt get sick in years now and ETC... i dont have any troubles and bring any kind of scientist research that is generalized, taken from 1000 random folks and say its 100% same for me, it isnt it depends on the person doing it and what else they do in their lives. And yes its better not to smoke, but the part u are hitting on is you get cancer 100% if you do, well...no you dont get 100%, the risk is increased but so is if you drink milk... Smile

------------
one more thing, there is increased risk that a car will drive over you accidentaly if you are near road, will you go and keep away from roads all life to avoid that? Smile

there is all kinds of s**t in this world and if you concern yourself with it too much u wont ever live. And if you constantly fear about getting cancer then you probably will (placebo effect goes both ways...)

P.S. The doctor that said i am going to die from smoking and only have little to live if i dont stop now, he got cancer and died....

P.S.S. If you have friends in medical department ask them how they really treat their own sicknesses and how often they take those pills they prescribe to others, you will be surprised...

- Life expectancy for smokers is at least 10 years shorter than for nonsmokers.
- Quitting smoking before the age of 40 reduces the risk of dying from smoking-related disease by about 90%.

(source: http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/...

It's not too late to stop and walk away almost scot free...

As for the nocebo effect, I doubt this will cause cancer, any more than a placebo will cure it, but it can have extreme effects health wise, in susceptible patients.

And, yes, I do look both ways before crossing the street, I think that should buy me a few months of life expectancy.
It's not the 10 years at the end I'm overly concerned about, it's the dying young (and the way in which) part, if you're unlucky, that would suck the most (both for smoking and crossing the street, although that might be a good way to go)...

I was a smoker and had the same excuses like all the ones i have just seen from you smokers, until one day i went to see my doctor for a yearly check up and he said your last X-Ray is 3years do you want to go. The X-Ray clinic was just next door so i said ok and had it.
The next day the doctor called me and said i want to say you. I will make it short went for a scan and had a loung cancer. I was operated two month later and lost a loung. Now i am living with one loung and COPD let me tell you that its not very funny.
If you really want to stop smoking its not that hard but you have to have it really in your brain.
Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
