To celebrate milestone in our forum - 50,000 posts - we will arrange a small competition:
The BankrollMob member who guesses the right date of when we hit 50,000 posts will win 10,000 MobPoints (equal to $100).
While we are still working out the details, it is planned to go something like this:
* You will be able to submit your guess on a page where nobody else can view your guess.
* You must submit both the date and the time (GMT timezone) of when we will reach 50,000 posts.
* If only one member guesses the right date, he/she wins. If several members guesses the right date, the one who came closest hour/minute wise, will take home the prize.
* We will announce the start of the competition in the forum and by writing a news about it. The end of the competition has not been decided yet, we might let it go for 1 or 2 months, or we might shut it down around the 45,000 posts mark. Feel free to comment and give your ideas on this matter.

sounds like a very good idea to me extremely good, good to give back to the community i have referred over 20 people to this site we need more stuff like this..
nice promotion idea... i like seeing, that u give out some money without earning directly(like this promo or the mob safe or paidposts)... makes BRM very sympatethic. But dont do it over plz I need BRM for refering ppl. doesnt make sense when u go broke...

Take the member how gets the right date. And made the guess first so the competion can keep on to 50000 but u must be first with the right date so how long can u wait

That might be a good idea. Then it's not only about "luck" (and qualified guesses) but also about how brave you are, how long you can wait

If i see how low the post count is for today, it shows clearly that all members should know how long notorius spammers (like Jazzyboy) are banned. This ban could make a difference of up to a week till the 50.000 target.

It is a great entertaining idea. I also think that shutting the competition down at around 45.000 posts is fine. Moreover, you might have to hide to posts count (around 48.000 ?) so that no one will be tempted to spam.

Sounds good, when does the competition start? BTW, did the other guy claim his $1000 prize? And ya, what LoGiX said. its a good idea to hide posts counts just before so no one can cheat.
