I think they are a big deal in limit poker and becomming a bigger threat everyday but not in no limit, the psycholigy factor in no limit is too advanced for a programmed bot.

You must realize that bots are a big threat. Bots are becoming a major problem, gettin better, more difficult to track. If youre suspicious talk to your pokerroom client and find out what they do against poker bots, but for sure bots gettin better and more difficult to track them down.

Worries me a littlte, a few years back you could, probably still can spot a bot, the older bots were quite easy to beat once spotted, but i see some stories on new bots and the future of poker could be ruiend if cliants dont do somthing to put a stop to it, IE some one needs to be sent down (id prfer shot, but the laws the law), the new bots will study your play (past and present) aswell as calulate making things much harder almost impossable. Too many ppl get away with theft in poker

I was just wondering, can you recognise a bot when a player always takes the same amount of time to think over his move ? or is that just coincidence...

For sure bots can make profit at fixed holdem cashgames. Think about a bot can multitabling 9 tables at once.
Scarry? Yes little bit, maybe not for now but within 2/3 years? Offcourse detecting systems also gettin better and better but bots are sometin to think about....

i will never be scared of a bot the human mind is still thousands times more complex and intricate than even the most powerful computers of todays generation
so has anyone here used bots before? I wouldn't mind trying it just to see what it is all about, mind you that defeats the whole drive of poker. bad idea

Lol yeah I would love to see a bot at 'work' but I don't want the risk to be banned from a poker site.. maybe a nice thinkg for discovery channel to make a documentary about

I sometimes wonder about bots also. I think I am just paranoid about it but would like to know if anyone has ever heard of a site being busted for it. Some of the shadier sites probabaly do.

i dont think that a bot would take more than 1 second to know what it should do... and dont bealive that a bot would take the same time to make all the moves, cause it would be easy to now where te bots are.
