I am glad that he has been caught and punished but i wonder how much of this is still going on. I hope that this sentence will deter people from doing this but i am very sceptical about that

well that's life for you at the tables- for sure one or two dudes get caught once in a while (sometimes a bigger bunch- remember the chinese don's scandal...) but the reality is that this sort of behavior is happening all the time, and doubt it will ever be stopped- possible reward is too big to stop doing these actions.

Its always good to hear when cheater get cought and will get punished for his crime, but there are huge number of players that use multi account's'... I would like that all multi account players get same punishment for example prison, and that will I think decrease so much multi account players...

The report says this guy won a WSOP bracelet in 2011 so it sounds like this came more down to greed than just cheating.If he can win a bracelet he must have been a decent player so a pretty stupid thing to do.The sentence does seem quite harsh but UK courts do seem to give out prison sentences for crimes involving money.....unless you work for a big bank and went to Eton.

I am also happy, that something is done about cheaters in poker, but what exactly was he sentenced for? I guess one does not get 15 months in prison and has to pay a million bucks just because he had multiple accounts. Or?

Great list you compiled there demo.Makes me laugh that you can do that but a billion dollar company such as pokerstars can't work out who is multi accounting.It happens on 888 all the time where aggro players all in first few hands plays like an idiot,sits out,comes back and plays junk.

I don't think they care about multi accounting until they have to pay out.The ones that play freerolls are probably accepted to a degree because they keep the games moving quickly with the all-ins every hand. I would be worried that if I had extra accounts then one day I get lucky and do well on a massive spin go and then it would be "sorry,multi accounts = no cashout.

Maybe if the poker site did act harshly on these games more people would actually play.I introduced a friend to poker but after being left frustrated in the free games and micro stakes he just gave up thinking there was no skill involved whatsoever.

We know that but try telling that to someone who has only watched on TV.I think he did try some sit and go games but he already had it in his head that people could just be playing junk every hand and for someone trying to learn that is probably very frustrating. In the end he made me feel like I was trying to sell him some kind of pyramid scheme.
