Masahiro Tanaka's next start could come at the big league level, Yankees manager Joe Girardi said on Thursday. May 28, 2015 at 9:03 PM ET
Tanaka is en route to meet the club following his second Minor League rehabilitation start on Wednesday at Pawtucket for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and the right-hander could be slotted to start on Tuesday or Wednesday against the Mariners in Seattle. "He's flying here tonight. We'll evaluate him tomorrow," Girardi said. "Today he felt fine; we'll make sure he's OK. We'll have a heart-to-heart talk with him, how he feels about where he's at. Hopefully he can make a start in Seattle."

LA Dodgers at St Louis Cardinals
STL -155 Total 7.5
Los Angeles and St. Louis are two teams with stars in their eyes for some big post season magic. The Cardinals have paced the NL Central while the Dodgers have done just as good in their own division.
Scouting grades: Fastball: 80 | Curveball: 70 | Changeup: 55 | Control: 60 | Overall: 65 Considered the top prep pitcher in the 2012 Draft class, Giolito slid after he was shut down early that March by a sprained ulnar collateral ligament. He ultimately underwent Tommy John surgery after the Nationals selected him and didn't pitch a full professional season until 2014. The time off didn't stop him from dominating hitters, and his performance earned him a spot in the All-Star Futures Game.
Scouting grades: Fastball: 70 | Curveball: 65 | Changeup: 60 | Control: 55 | Overall: 65 Not only is Urias the top left-handed pitching prospect in the Minor Leagues, he's also the most precocious phenom in the game. The youngest pitcher in full-season ball in 2014, he dominated in the the hitter-friendly California League as a 17-year-old. His ERA (2.36), strikeout rate (11.2 per nine innings) and opponent average (.194) all would have easily led the league if the Dodgers hadn't kept him on tight pitch counts that prevented him from qualifying.

2015 Prospect Watch
Blake Swihart Rank: 1
Team: Boston Red Sox Position: C Bats: S, Throws: R Drafted: 2011, 1st (26) - BOS ETA: 2015 Age: 23, DOB: 04/03/1992 Height: 6' 1", Weight: 205 lb
Scouting grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 50 | Run: 50 | Arm: 60 | Field: 60 | Overall: 60 Swihart didn't start catching regularly until the summer before his senior high school season but showed enough potential behind the plate for the Red Sox to draft him 26th overall in 2011, making him the first New Mexico first-rounder in 21 years. Signed for $2.5 million, Swihart has emerged as the top catching prospect in baseball. His toolset resembles that of a young Buster Posey.
Scouting Grades: Hit: 70 | Power: 65 | Run: 50 | Arm: 70 | Field: 55 | Overall: 70 Some observers were surprised when the Astros drafted Correa first overall in 2012, but he has since shown that he was worthy of the selection. After leading the Midwest League with a .872 OPS in 2013 as an 18-year-old, Correa was well on his way to another superb season in 2014 when a broken right fibula ended his season in late June.

Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 80 | Run: 40 | Arm: 70 | Field: 40 | Overall: 65 No Minor Leaguer -- and perhaps no Major Leaguer -- has more raw power than Gallo. He set a Nevada high school record with 65 career homers (the sixth-highest total in U.S. prep history), broke into pro ball in 2012 by establishing a Rookie-level Arizona League mark with 18 long balls in just 43 games, led the Minors with 40 blasts in 2013 and ranked second last year with 42. He also put on a show at the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game at Target Field, crushing 15 homers during batting practice and the game-winner during the actual contest.

Oral history of one of the best first rounds in Draft history J. Upton, Cutch, Tulo, Braun, Gordon, Ellsbury, Zimmerman recall feelings before, after being selected By Doug Miller / MLB.com
Justin Upton was the first name called on June 7, 2005, but as that day's first round of the MLB Draft unfolded, pick by pick, the hits -- and future MVPs, Gold Gloves and All-Star appearances -- kept on coming. Ten years after the historic 2005 Draft, we will keep enjoying it by honoring its anniversary with an oral history of what many consider MLB's ultimate first round.

I. Hope and Hype
Upton, OF, Padres (No. 1 overall pick, D-backs, Great Bridge High School, Chesapeake, Va.): There were some great players in that Draft -- a lot of the high school guys I had played against in the showcases. Playing against each other, constantly, you knew which guys were the top guys.
Braun, OF, Brewers (No. 5 pick, Brewers, University of Miami): I knew about the college guys -- Troy Tulowitzki, Ryan Zimmerman, Alex Gordon. I had an opportunity to play against all those guys during college. And then the high school guys. McCutchen, Justin Upton, Jay Bruce. Just some incredible talent.
Tulowitzki, SS, Rockies (No. 7 pick, Rockies, Long Beach State): I had an idea playing on the USA team the previous summer [which featured Tulowitzki, Zimmerman, Gordon, Ellsbury, Lowrie and Gordon]. I looked at that team and said, "Wow. I don't know if this is how it is every year, but these guys are really, really good players." I didn't know it was going to be as big as it turned out to be.

II. Scout Central
McCutchen, OF, Pirates (No. 11 pick, Pirates, Fort Meade (Fla.) H.S.): It was a little nerve-wracking for me, being young and having a lot of scouts at the games. I was much more, like, soaking it in, as opposed to being cut off and thinking, "Man, this is crazy."
Bruce, OF, Reds (No. 12 pick, Reds, West Brook H.S., Beaumont, Texas): It was a whirlwind, but it was a lot of fun. A Pirates [scout] came a couple of times on the weekend. He would throw BP to me and stuff. That was a little odd.
