AK v AQ  0
Hi-

Playing in the BRM full tilt free roll, blinds 200/400 i've got 50k avg is 14k and 98 left-

folds round to me on the button with AQ - i raise to 1800
Sb - jams all in for 30k. -

Would you call? The tables have broke so have no read on this player.

Could be AK or AA KK QQ which dominate me.
or weaker pair which i'm flipping with or AJ KQ which i'm a marginal fav.

blind are 200/400 - dont raise so big, max 3 blinds, 3 blinds look strong enough IMO.

At this particular situation (since it is a freeroll) i dont think i could fold it Big Smile (but thats just me Big Smile ), but folding is a right thing to do here.
Since you are both very deep (50k and 30k, and avg is only 14k) you should definitly lay this down - no point of flipping(most likely thing that will happen in such a spot, i think) for such a deep stack.

Fold and go to the next hand Smile

Bingo. Unless it is a hyper ultra turbo tourney i would most likely fold here. Even more so, if i have no read on the player as i am new to the table. But of cause it could just be a move from the SB, thinking you tried to steal the blinds from the button position.

Agreed about the steal. The villain could have been pushing with any top range cards or even lower pocket pairs. Then it again it is a BRM freeroll so it could have been anything knowing half of the idiots who play on there.

Hi mate those set up will always be present and some times it will be you on the other hand of giving it , say for example today you lost a pot with AQ against AK , tomorrow it will e you who win with AK and the other guy hand would be AQ lol , anyway good luck again at the tables hope you have fun and make some good money, anyway me out for the day gonna place some bet and then latter i can have fun watching my bets unfold lol!

If I have no read on player and he shoves, and I am holding AQ... hmmm sometimes Ill call in freerolls sometimes Ill fold... Because you are on button, and he is sb, maybe he thinks you r trying to steal blinds and he prevent you from doing that by shoving, or he is strong... But why shove there big pairs if you know your opponent will insta fold O.o So I wouldnt put him on big pair... maybe he got AK AQ or AJ maybe even AT.... Very tuff decision... Ill call that in 50% of time... If it wasnt freeroll you should fold that for sure... but since it is freeroll....

I think if you are taking the freeroll seriously then it would be very risky to be getting it in with AQ against a player with no notes. What can you be hoping he will have? After doing so well to get where you are it does seem a waste to risk it in this situation. Smile

I'm trying to build bankroll/expierence so yes I'm playing as if this is a buy-in tournement.

On reflection- probably why it was in the hands i reviewed its an error yes! Deep stacked theres no need for me to be playing this. I think my comments in my Op show I know its a fold- at best I'm flipping with low pair. -

yes its really hard to explain especially on just a freerolls.but on normal situation on bigger stock it should be a nice fold for protecting your chips to reach the bubble play.calling it from a losse player it could have possible chance to win. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Worship Worship

Doesnt mean that... It is great possibility that you are flipping with low pair, but you could be dominating or dominated in this hand also.... So if you are playing like a real buy in, than that is fold...

Hi mate.

Because you don't have no information on the player, and the tournament is a freeroll, and you have that kind of hand, and no one limped or raised before you, just call, if you lose you will be above the average of chips in the ranking, and maybe you will get some tell from this player that you can note for future tournament that he stay in your table.
But i understand your dilema, lot of chips to pay, lot of chips in stake, get ITM in a freeroll is allways good, but some times we have to move and go further.
