Hello friends, I found this relevant matter for our community ..
Study reveals that area enabled by financial losses is the same pain. Finding could help understand and treat addicts game.
Losing money can literally hurt, according to a study released this week. Scientists found that the area of the brain that is activated when we lose money is the same as that responds to fear and pain.
In all, 24 volunteers participated in a gambling game where they could win and lose money. Their brains were monitored by MRI. During the study, the researchers, from the University College London, found that participants were learning to predict chances of winning as much to lose - in a brain region known as the striatum.
However, when the "forward" failed, and the lost volunteers instead of gaining the area of the other brain was activated - the same one that responds to pain.
According to the researchers, this makes sense. "We do not want to lose money just as we do not want to feel pain," says the study's leader, Ben Seymour. "It makes sense that the ways in which we anticipate and avoid the two are related," he says.
According to Seymour, understand how the brain responds to the loss of money can help you better understand why some people risk more financially than others, and why some end up addicted to the game.SOURCE GLOBO.COM

A subject that has been discussed many times and will be discussed even more in the future. In one of these "conversations", if you like, in the past about the copy-paste thing, there was a suggestion to put the source of the subject in the post. So in this case i dont think it was wrong.
Heskor, start using paragraphs for a change and some punctuation. I have stopped reading your posts for quite some time now.

porco dude- first of all it's great that you decided to join the greatest forum in the whole wide world, however there is one minor thing wrong with majority of your posts... they should belong in "complete bullsh1t place" thread, a few of them can occupy place in "i testify" thread as well. if you follow these guidelines i'm sure you will become a legent of brm just as huge as flashfaust01.

Copy paste thread but its a nice discussion
I allways tried to see poker as a game and not as a ''money'' game. Never did care about the money if i played ''in limits'' and then allways played ''best possible game'' (with my skill that is which has its limits ) Anyway when playing higher limits like $100+ i allways a bit tighen up like a bit scared which is strange cos i cud easily handle that limits thru my bankrollmanagement. So yeah money loss hits our brain i think

A good discussion subject just a shame it was a cut and shove jobby. I think a lot of the worst degenerate gamblers take more pleasure from the actual gamble and don't view losing as losing money. You see most of the very young poker players playing with no regard for money and have probably had no responsibility in their life so spending 1000s on poker tournaments means very little to them.
