There has been a thread like this before with riddles and things. it was annoying cos some people never wrote the answers lol.
i mite have wrote this one before but if not its quite easy
a man moves into a new house. there are three switches on the first floor that operate three different lights in the attic. how can he tell which switch operates which light only making the journey to the atttic once.

I think i've heard this one before... not on this forum though...
The answer is that you turn on first two switches (say 1 and 2), then after a while you turn switch 2 off. Then go up to the attic - the light that is on is operated by switch 1 (the one you left on), the light that is off and is still warm is operated by switch 2, and the one that's off and cold - switch 3...
