I got one of the BRM promotions and then deposited on a site, but I have no idea how the BRM free gift thing works, do they keep track somehow? do I have to click something somewhere?

There are no promotions of this kind, at the moment. the way it used to work was like this. You had to deposit and gather a specific amount of points, for each site. After fulfilling that requirement, you were requesting the bonus award from BRM which was 5000 Mob Points.
Well, it looks like the only free gift you could expect nowadays must have come from the missus, otherwise you could wait for it 'till the end of time. BRM had one for quite long time with PKR but it expired. Of course the promo went as Mober mentioned.
