well if he managed to top Barry Hutter and Harry Butter than he definitely deserved to be the eventual champion. Jason you are the man! exactly 428,345 mobbits out of huge pool of 430793 were rooting for you, not sure who the remaining ones were supporting- Hutter or Butter, not that it matters though...

A good win for Mercier who is having another great year and must have won close to $2 million already this year.I see he won a WSOP bracelet this year but though he has won nearly $16 million he has won only a few tournaments which is quite surprising.

My first reaction to this news was "what a short field this was", but taking in consideration the value of the buy-in and the quality of the players who went to it, this should have been a difficult fight for Jason Mercier.

Here is the timeline.
Jason Mercier @JasonMercier said on Aug 16: "Busted the 2650 at Seminole hard rock. Saving the run good for the 25k high roller tomorrow. Leaving for Barcelona in 3 days too #EPT!"
On Aug 17: "In the money! 11 left... Guaranteed 57k but we're looking for that top spot for 652k."
On Aug 18: "Made final table of 9 in the 25k SHR high roller. Have 820k at 8/16k... Final table at 2 pm tomorrow. 652k up top. Let's goooooo!!!"
On Aug 18: "I won it. Did a deal heads up and then won... 517k and the title! Oh baby, that felt good! Off to Barcelona tomorrow for more mashing."
Congratulations, Jason!

Yeah, 83 people who are all able to afford 25k just to play some poker is not a short field rather than a minefield.

Jason Mercier is another player who started to play poker with friends and since he liked the game he then started to play online and had very good result there. So he than decided to play live tournament and the success came very soon and was taken by PS as one of their players. And the good results just continued and this win is not a very big surprise and his career winnings of 16K says it all.
