Biggest winner in WCOOP  0
Well I think some of you guessed who the biggest winner in WCOOP is... Thats right pokerstars is biggest winner, and here are some numbers... Pokerstars collected from main tournaments rake 3,348,547$ and thats only from main events... I think they took same if not even more from satelites to those events, and thats only from WCOOP... now you get it how much they earn O.o

P.S I am not blaming pokerstars for anything, but I tought it would be interested to see how much money they earn Big Smile

And that is only from one promotion. They made some good money there Smile
Makes you wonder how much they make in average in a normal day.
Where did you get this data? Can you also find an approximate daily one? Smile

I calculated all... evry single tournament... players x rake, and if guarantee prize is not reach than calculate if they have profit and how much... they were in loss in only one wcoop event... and main event didnt reached guaranteed prize, but they took profit of 375k I think...

really , i think that number is low, but i'm not gonna try and figure it out so i'll take your word for it Thumbs Up
but you have to understand that why their in business, to make money. as with every company, but they sure don't make as much as walmart, and nobody bothers to figure that one out.

And when they make money like these events , you have to remember , it's not all their money.
As a traded stock on the stock market, it is share holders money. and it therejob to make those share holders money. so if their a profitable company, i say good for them Worship

look like this... this is only from 70 tournaments... how much tournaments there is on stars evryday? and how much cash game there is (rake from them), and how much rake from sit and goes, and spin and goes evry single day... I am sure that they at least make 10M$ per day...

On the whole that's a rather nice return on their investment isn't it. If a poker site was your business wouldn't you want to make something like a load of money to be able to keep making it wotrhwhile players turning up to keep making you a whole load of money?

Well done the team at pokerstars.

LOL if they made more then 10M per day they would be worth more then google Thumbs Up
you also have to look at expences.
For example , how much they pay out to affiliates.
How much do they pay for advertising.
How much do affiliate banners cost, there not free to host.
employment wages, and overhead.

If you think that every cent they take in is profit, you need to think again. Thumbs Up

------------
Give you an example
when i was manager of air duct cleaning company we were taking in 3.5Mil a year
advertising was 900K a year.
Pay roll was 2 mil per year
then you have the cost of maintaining the trucks
the you add in the cost of the building our office was in, rent hydro heating Etc.
the owner was making around 250K a year
How's that for taking 3.5Mil.

they are making min 10m$ a per day, but you are right, there is a lot of expences there... like promotions, paychecks to team pro, servers, paychecks to employers... and a lot... and I wouldnt agree with you if they make 10m$ per day that would surpass google... 365x10m=3,65B google is worth 15 maybe more times than that... and I think I read somewhere long time ago that profit of ps in I think 2013 or what year was the last before amaya buyed it that ps was making 4B$ per year, or something like that... all I know that number was above billion.. and after amaya bought it I think they doubled profit...

yea the problem with a company like amaya is there into other stuff, where stars could earn the company huge profits, other ventures could earn them less, some even fail, which stops there shares from climbing.
when it comes to stocks on a company, you have to look at the big picture.

first site when I googled took me here...

"then we can assume that Pokerstars was generating around $1.5 million in revenues per day in the first half of 2007. By all indications, Pokerstars has continued to grow in the second half of 2007, so I wouldn't be surprised if that number had increased up to $1.7-$1.8 million per day in revenues by the end of 2007"

so this was in 2007 and we all know that ps is grown much much much more than then... so I was right when I said that they were making around 10m$ per day

------------
here are results from 2010... you get the point

"these are the numbers arrived at as of June 2010. PokerStars is grossing around $2 billion dollars a year in rake, and roughly $1 billion in net revenue. On a monthly basis that is about $83 million, or roughly $2.75 million a day in net revenue. This may be optimistic considering the global recessionary times, but it was based off trending evidence of PokerStars market share and expansion into new markets and live play."

O.K. but as your info says 2.75M per day not 10Mil per day.and don't forget most of that information was when the americans could still play.they used to have 350K plus in players at ant time back then.
now the adverage is 165K in players.
and if the russians ever get kicked out.
then it's the end of online poker.

lol but i don't want to argue with you about this .
so there making money
congrats to them.
have a good nite StheP.

That is why we should not think not even for one moment that Amaya is here to make us happy. They are here to make themselves happy. That is all.
I know it's a business and they are a corporation etc. but gambling is profitable only for these companies and a few very lucky people. Only for them.

yes thats true that this is from 2010 when americans still played, but after amaya buyed pokerstars, they put spin and goes and all sort of tournaments, and again I read somewhere that they have more than doubled profit per year... and also ps has grown over the year... so if they earned 3m$ per day before amaya bought them, which I think is more... Than after amaya they were making at least 6m$ per day...

and not to forget the sponsorship of Negrianu, Liv, Elky, Moneymaker and others. But yea indeed they make a lot off money in day.

I read that stars was making 100s of millions a few years ago on it's own but business fortunes can change very quickly as we saw with black Friday and the banking crash.
We just have to hope poker sites don't treat the customers as cash cows for hedger funds and the like and still give us good value poker......if they do people won't mind the big profits. Smile
