StLouis-Nashville Predat. 02:00 2,10 3,80 2,80

Predators team scope: Forward Filip Forsberg extended his point streak to five games (four goals, two assists) when he opened the scoring with a power-play goal in a 5-3 victory against the New York Rangers on Monday. He has four goals in the past four games after he had six in his first 32. Center Mike Ribeiro had three assists to extend his point streak to four games (one goal, seven assists). "I think when we're a team that brings emotion to the game, we're a different team," Ribeiro said. "We play with more energy to our game, and we're just faster at getting pucks, we're forechecking, we're creating turnovers. It's just hard to bring that every night, so you have to find a way to motivate yourself." Nashville, which was 3-1-0 on its four-game homestand, hasn't played a road game since Dec. 17 at St. Louis. The Predators begin a stretch in which they'll play 11 of 14 away from Bridgestone Arena. Goalie Pekka Rinne, the projected starter, is 0-5-2 in his past seven road games; he has not won on the road since a 3-2 victory against the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 5.

Blues team scope: Center Kyle Brodziak, who has missed five games with a lower-body injury stemming from a skate cut sustained in the Dec. 17 game against Nashville, could return to the lineup. Brodziak, who skated during an optional practice Monday, has been considered day-to-day. "I'm not sure what the plan is yet for tomorrow," Brodziak said. "I'm going to wait and see the rest of the day how it reacts and see how it feels in the morning. Hopefully things are going well. It'll be a coaching decision after that." St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock feels if Brodziak isn't able to play Tuesday, he'll be ready to go Thursday against the Wild. Allen will start. Forward Patrik Berglund, who has missed the entire season following shoulder surgery Aug. 28, said Monday he has been cleared for contact, but there is no timetable for a return to the lineup. The Blues have won three straight against the Predators. St. Louis has won three in a row at home and four of the past five.

Ottawa Senators-N.J.Devils 01:30 2,10 3,80 2,80

Devils team scope: Starting goaltender Cory Schneider will play after Keith Kinkaid made 26 saves in a 3-2 home victory against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. "We talked about wanting to get back to our identity, play hard and play for each other," said defenseman David Schlemko, whose goal with 3:05 remaining in the third period broke a 2-2 tie. New Jersey will try to end 2015 by winning back-to-back games for the first time since Nov. 12-14; it is 8-8-4 since.

Senators team scope: Ottawa may start backup goaltender Andrew Hammond in the second half of the back-to-back after starter Craig Anderson allowed seven goals on 37 shots in a 7-3 road loss to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday. Anderson has faced a League-high 1,010 shots this season. Coach Dave Cameron wasn't happy after surrendering a season-high in goals and allowing Boston to score four goals with the extra man; his power play went 0-for-4. "I hate losing and I lost, so it was a bad taste," Cameron said. "Upset, whatever. I hate losing."

Dallas-Nashville Predat. 02:30 2,10 3,80 2,80

Predators team scope: Nashville hopes its recent run of alternating wins and losses continues; they lost 4-3 in overtime to the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. To make that happen in Dallas will be a big challenge. " see how many points they have and how they're dominating in the League so far," captain Shea Weber told The Tennessean on Tuesday. "It's going to be fun. A big challenge for us and we're looking forward to it." Predators center Mike Fisher said video shows why the Stars are atop the division. "Playing real, real well," he said. "Great offensively. We're in for a great game. We've got to be solid and be ready to play." Strong play from goaltender Pekka Rinne will help; in four games against the Stars last season he was 3-0-1 and allowed nine goals on 97 shots. The Predators used Wednesday as a day off after back-to-back games Monday against the New York Rangers and Tuesday against the Blues.

Stars team scope: Coach Lindy Ruff told the Dallas website he was unsure if forward Ales Hemsky would be available. Hemsky sustained a lower-body injury blocking a shot late in the second period of the Stars' 6-3 loss at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Hemsky has three goals and 13 points in 37 games. The Stars, whose 57 points led the League entering play Wednesday, lost to a Blue Jackets team that's 30th in the standings. Ruff said Thursday that the mistakes in the defensive zone were obvious but fixable. "Our defensive play got poor where we missed some assignments that were easy assignments to get to," he said. "We went over that and started back where the basics came from." The work was done off the ice as the Stars used the day off for meetings.

Stars team scope: Forward Valeri Nichushkin, who is day-to-day with a lower-body injury sustained Thursday against the Nashville Predators, took part in an optional practice Friday and coach Lindy Ruff said he might be able to play. Seguin scored twice in the third period of the 5-1 win to move into a tie with Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks for second in the NHL with 23 goals, one behind Benn, who had a goal and an assist. Seguin is third in the scoring race, six points behind Kane and two behind Benn. This is the start of a three-game road trip; Dallas plays its third game in four days Sunday at the New York Islanders. "We're looking to keep utilizing four lines and have everybody involved," Ruff told the Stars website.

Devils team scope: Goalie Cory Schneider will start. Forward Mike Cammalleri didn't practice Friday; coach John Hynes told Northjersey.com it was a maintenance day and Cammalleri is expected to play. Forward Tyler Kennedy, a healthy scratch in a 3-0 win against the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday, took Cammalleri's place on the top line alongside Travis Zajac and Kyle Palmieri. Forward Tuomo Ruutu, who missed the past two games with an illness, returned to practice. Forward Jordin Tootoo took a Gelinas slap shot to the face and left briefly but returned. Ruutu and Tootoo should be available. "They've got some great players in Seguin and Benn and they score a lot of goals," forward Lee Stempniak told Northjersey.com. "It seems like every time you check the score from one of their games, they score four or five goals, so it will be a challenge for us."
