Calgary-Florida Panthers 03:30 2,50 3,80 2,30
Panthers team scope: Florida's win streak ended at 12 games with a 3-2 overtime loss Monday to the Vancouver Canucks, but the Panthers will attempt to pick up at least one point for a 14th straight game. They'll be coached by assistant Mike Kelly, as Gerard Gallant returned home after the Vancouver game to attend his mother's funeral. Ekblad, who missed his first game of the season after sustaining an upper-body injury Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers, was to be re-evaluated Tuesday, general manager Dale Tallon told TSN 1050 in Toronto. "We're hoping it's short-term; it appears to be that way," Tallon said. Jagr (four goals, two assists) and forward Aleksander Barkov (one goal, four assists) have five-game point streaks. Linemate Jonathan Huberdeau (three goals, three assists) has a four-game point streak.
Flames team scope: Forward Jiri Hudler practiced Tuesday on a line with Sam Bennett and Mikael Backlund and will return to the lineup after missing the past three games with a lower-body injury. Forward Michael Frolik is expected to miss his 12th straight game with an upper-body injury, but he was a full participant in practice and coach Bob Hartley said he could return as early as Saturday against the Oilers. Jones and goalie Karri Ramo didn't practice but are expected to play. "We want to make sure that little bumps and bruises, we take care of them and that's the way it's going to be until the end," Hartley told the Flames website. Forward Lance Bouma is expected to miss a few weeks after sustaining a lower-body injury Monday in a 5-4 loss to the San Jose Sharks. The Flames have lost four of their past five at Scotiabank Saddledome after winning a franchise-record 11 straight on home ice.

Carolina-Vancouver Canuc. 01:00 2,30 3,80 2,50
Canucks team scope: Goalie Jacob Markstrom, who got the win against Carolina in Vancouver, is likely to start after Ryan Miller made 36 saves in a 4-1 loss at the Washington Capitals on Thursday in the opener of a six-game road trip. Miller missed Vancouver's previous eight games with a groin strain. Playing on back-to-back nights on the road shouldn't be a problem, captain Henrik Sedin said. "We rolled the lines pretty evenly [Thursday], so we should be fresh [Friday]," said Sedin, who assisted on Radim Vrbata's third-period power-play goal. "Usually back-to-backs are not a big problem; it's when you get into three [games] in four [days] and four in six and those kind of situations, so [Friday] shouldn't be a problem."
Hurricanes team scope: Goalie Cam Ward may get the chance to extend Carolina's winning streak to five games after Eddie Lack made 23 saves in a 4-1 victory at the St. Louis Blues on Thursday. The winning streak has carried the Hurricanes into fourth place in the Metropolitan Division after a slow start. "It's been a good feeling, I think, in the locker room," said forward Jeff Skinner, who had a goal and an assist in St. Louis. "Everyone likes to win. I think guys have come together over the last little while. We've been playing some pretty good hockey as of late. Hopefully, we can keep it going."
