I had an email saying that my tickets had been upgraded and it looks like the prices of some tournaments has gone up slightly,no big issue and my DTD tickets can now be used for lots of new tournaments.

... < I've been playing a wide assortment of $1 and $2 buy in tournaments, including my fave,...bounty knockouts there,...and the prices went up also...
... < THEY went up from $1 and $2 to $1.10 and $2.20,...AND the number of paid spots went down. Less folks paid out,...but the prizes are a little bigger. Bounty in the $2.20 buy in also went up to .40c from .30c
... < BUT,.....I've just noticed that it now costs TEN dollars spent to get ONE partypoint,...instead of the FIVE it WAS until now... So instead of getting 0.2pp/$1 you now only get 0.1pp/$1 spent... < poopoopoints

Cheer hi guys hope you are doing well at the tables and making some good money in general and so on and having fun in the process, anyway on the subject matter i would say that this is a good thing because the rake has diminished and the could attract some players to it thought i still do not like the site, it is progress so anyway peace out have fun at the tables and good luck in everything you do hope you have fun and all!

this is a very good thing as I have not yet created an account there as I like playing sitngos and mtts a bit but never liked the rake as they were too high in my opinion, now it's good

Around 10% rake is industry standard at those low stakes. So they just went from overpriced to normal. One has to wonder, if this change has anything to do with the possible takeover of the whole group.
Im guessing they had a lot of emails from customers complaining about this. I actually thought about sending them one. 85+15 cent was indeed stupid. It made it nearly impossible to play HU SnGs with good ROI...
I don't understand why a site like partypoker doesn't try to make rakes lower than stars, to really try to steal players from them. I guess we'll never know. 8% rake instead of 10 would be enough to convince me.

You get Party Points at the rate of 2 points for every $1 spent on rake, it's not related to the buy-in, just the fee/rake you pay.
So for a $2 + $0.20 SNG you get 0.4 party points just like before (when it was $1.80 + $0.20), just the paid places get more money.
Maybe the loyalty scheme in Canada has changed, but for me it's the same as before.

That's what I was thinking. In fact the whole POKERFESTDAYxx bonus codes, that we got the last few weeks, were quite extraordinary. We got a $5, $10 or $20 ticket for free every day for 2 weeks, that was an unusually generous promotion. It must have been about $140 they just gave away.
I was thinking the only reason for this could have been to boost the numbers to make the company more attractive to potential buyers...

PartyPoker have gone ahead and changed many of their buy ins. For example, the old $10 buy ins are now $11. They said they would upgrade all tourney tickets that people have but on checking my account they haven't upgraded all of them. I must get back to them about it!

It worked out well for me as I had loads of DTD tickets I had won which I could only use for a few tourneys but now I can use them for most of tournaments I prefer so I am not complaining and there are some decent promos lately .

I believe if someone had in mind of buying the company would have seen what is going on. Cause these players must stay even after the promotions. Unless they were chasing a quick sale while the numbers were up
