So close to winning but just didn't manage it in the end (called a shove with 88 when 1st but levelish in chips and the other big stack came over the top with a decent hand

Congratulations icequeen. To be honest i didnt think you will reach that far, with a bounty on your head. But you proved me wrong and you got yourself a nice amount. And if you got more bounties for other players, like callie says, then its even better.

Some of my best finishes come from bounties. Many a time when I played often on sky, I would get to final table of a 100-200 person bounty mtt and not take a single bounty. Reason being I am so tight that I only play quality hands, and in normal games this is a problem cause I cant build a good enough stack. But in bounty games I always get called so it is just a matter of avoiding the beats (not simple on its own though lol).
I had a good start last night. Some guy called my KK shove all in with crap and I decimated his stack. He got lucky a couple of hands on the trot and a few hands later had starting stack when I got KK and stacked him again. Then my AA held all in shoved 3 way and fairly early on I had a 45k stack (5k start stack).
I was never out of the top 20 I don't think and top 12 for most of the game and its an easy game when you have a big stack and your big hands hold.
Did have one amusing hand. I lost a load on AQ v AK against a midstack and then picked up AA. two callers turned over QQ and TT, and the board shows AQTxx

Just read your last post and have to say that I hadn't really considered the issues that you mention, as this PartyPoker game is really the only bounty game I ever play. I may give a couple or so bounty games a go over the coming weeks and see how it goes using the approach you describe.

A great result Ice Queen,I thought you would do well,you have had some decent results lately,whatever strategy you had seemed to have worked. I have seen that guy betpotwaxman a few times and he is always writing in the chatbox,usually about presumed bad play though most games are freerolls so hardly surprising.

With such hands it is no that hard to reach high on the finish board. You got many times very good hands. And i believe you got them in the right game, cause most of the times, such hands come on tournaments with silly prizes
