I think pokerstars calendar is huge piece of sht... I tought there would be some misions, there would be some tournament ticket giveaway, there would be some money giveaway... instead yesterday they force you to gather them huge amount of rake to give you few bucks if you are lucky, which ofcourse chance is very slim that your table will get picked...I said ok, maybe its just for that day this shitty "promotion" than I come and see todays promotion O.o make deposit of 25$ and you will get prize up to 20k O.o LOL they sure want to make some money for christmas instead of giving it away :S

Yeah it sux. I havent deposited on stars since my last withdraw weeks ago. Was waiting for this but with the s**t prom i may just not bother and take some time off poker until after the holidays. With the changes in point system as well i may be done with stars unless they start offering better stuff like the other sites

well new point sistem sux as i heard you have missions and you are earning stars... and you need more stars (VPP) points than it use to to reach certain status... also they cancel supernova elite status, but that doesnt matter because I dont think I will ever reach supernova elite stats...

The truth is that they can keep their post being in the top of the market, even if they dont make any promotions at all. At least for a very long time. So just be happy for the ones they put up.
There are always more sites, that these days make nice promotions.

they are making PROMOtions to earn more money, they are not doing them to PROMOTE them, just to earn more money, and that is preaty lame... as soon as amya bouth them they want to increase profit by charging more rake or make new ways to make more money from regular players, instead of increasing player field and focusing to bring new players and to keep regulars with good promotions where they would give some $ not force you to earn for them a lot of rake so they will return you some small part of it...

Yeah I would say play at partypoker for a while. They're much smaller but they're giving away a lot more than stars. And the cashouts don't cost fees anymore (thats what made me not like them years ago) so it's really a nice poker client if you like promotions and free $.
I just hope partypoker can get more sit & go grinders to come to their site. More SnG traffic would be great for party and maybe stars would stop taking the online poker industry for granted

Of course they want to make money. Why else are they in business.
Nike sells a pair of running shoes for $249.00 They put them on sale for $119.00 you know why they did this. cause last month they sold 10,000 pairs this month they'll sell 500,000 Do you complain that they only put them on sale so they will make more money. NOPE, you'll go out and buy a pair. And odd's are since your saving so much on the shoes you might grab a t- shirt or socks to go with those new shoes.
So if you think any company is in business to give you something. Think again.

I agree with you, but they should care more and give more to regular players, from whom they are making profit, so they would stay on thier site, and give to new players so they would bring more new players and earn more money... but nooo they want to make money while promoting themselfs, and thats a problem... so for example if reg player is spending 20$ on rake per day, and they put promotion, spend 200$ of rake to get 50$ O.o and thats how they are making more money from this promotion, instead to put promotion in right use, to bring new players and expend their market

yea i agree, but if you look at these promotions, they are for the little guy. they don't care about the big guy's they are already generating enough revenue. these are to try and entice the smaller players to play more. thats the way it works if you move 100 players from $0.10/0.20 to $0.20/$0.40 you earn morn more money. and thats what it's all about. Profit for you and esp the share holders.

im sure they will have a lots of complains, after this shitty calendar prizes and on top of that if u add the changes they made with the points, people will feel scammed, and start loading their email with lets just say colorful language letters after which my guess is some where late December they will start putting out, more cash prizes then collage girls on campus anyway that`s what i think will happen, but im not 100% on this

I am pretty disappointed in one respect with the Stars calendar as it is a relatively simple one size fits all. Everyone gets a prize offering and it's the same prize offering for everyone....if you choose to partake. There is no calendar like the BRM calendar where loads of effort goes in to make it fun and disappointing at the same time (disappointing when you don't win, but super exciting when you do.)

yeah so far the ps calendar is full of sh1tty promos where you have to deposit sth for a chance to get a "completely random" prize. but calendar is only 3 days old, so lets give them a chance to improve. maybe at the end of month they will be giving away $1069 just for logging-in?
