i admire your break with convention and wish you every continued success. I must say tho that you are doing remarkably better than can be expected as a decent "lowroller" when the longterm pro-returns are one and a half BB per hour. I reckon that either u must be playing hundreds of tables simultaneously to make those figures or played absolute/ultimate with hole card access to boost it along. The other possibilty is that I have dramatically over-estimated the earnings of a teacher (tho i confess to having no clue as to how badly they get paid). More power to u and long may it continue.

I wouldn't like to be a real pro playing 10 hours a day. I would like it tho to play the high stakes but then just for 1, maybe 2 hours a day. I think if you do that you could also make some serious money.

Seen some hands on the really high stakes? Insanly aggressive and so a play with VERY high variance. Playing lower is surely better for your nerves.

I think you misunderstood something, poker demands extreme focus. Because of that you split your work day up in sessions how long they are varies from player to player some split it up in hours other in hands. I play 3 sessions of aprox 2 hours pr day so there is some way to the 10 hours you mention. Ofcourse if im sitting at a really good table with easy money I don't leave by the clock but when im done Same goes the other way if im losing and not getting respect from opponent I might stop before time or atleast find another table.
Edit: @Hellunins
In Denmark school teachers are poorly paid, aprox 5500$ pr month which they have to pay 50% tax of so it comes down to 2750$, poker winnings are tax free in Denmark as long as you win them on a poker site with EU class 3 license. So when I make example 50$ an hour I would have to get 100$ an hour from a real job for it to be the same ammount going into my account.
Regarding the 1,5BB/100 you mention it's at the high stakes it's like that, when low rolling you can have winrate at 5-15BB/100 with proper game selection. When I work I got the 3 biggest poker networks open just non stop searching for someone bleeding chips and with aprox 20K players on each network it's no prob to find some bleeding chips.
But im not trying to make it sound like paradise it is like "they" say a hard way to make an easy living. When you play 6h daily it becomes monotonous and allmost devasting evil when you're in a downswing then you're not only working without earning anything but paying for going to work which can be very hard mentally. You can't stop have to earn money and can't play cause you're losing no matter what....Ugh let's not talk about it I feel sick allready last time I had downswing it lasted for a week.

Haha yeah I've been skiing a couple of times in Norway and your prices are pretty sick especially on meat and vegestables as I remember it.
I just started my "pro" career still don't know if I consider my self a pro but I make a living so I guess so I play the lowest limit's possible to make a living of but im sure it can get pretty lucrative going up the limits.
If you got the will there is way.....good luck on it

I love my job so would never quit to play poker, ill work till I push daisys, also would have to have a earn around $1000 a week to get close to a real wage, and then i think the fun would go from poker cus you have to play, and have to play a lot and ofcouse win. I guess lots of ppl do make a living from poker alone (M3? i think so), but as its been said some places its easyer than outhers. $2750 after tax etc for teachers, that sucks, they should all play poker
On one of the bigest german pokerside was an offer some month ago. Some german guys was going to Paraguay and build a pokercamp.
The offer was: Your own apartment, all inclusive and internet. All papers for Paraguay inc. a driving licence. Housekeeping every day. A cook and 2 times a day foot and every night bbq.
They price for that all is 1000$ in a month. I know 4 guys who was leaving to the camp. After 5 month they are still there. It works, but then poker isn`t fun anymore. It`s a job, and you have to win....

well i wouldn t make that choice. because here, in my country, in my city, i have my all friends and my family and all the things that make me happy! money is not everything and probably if i went to asia i would n t be happy and when you are not happy your quality off poker is not so good.
but iff i had 4 or 5 friends to come with me, well, that s another history
I had some posts with a guy who lives in Canada and is actually doing better than that - playing high stakes online ring games. According to him, he is averaging on a good month about 30K and a bad one about 10 - 15K. I see him a lot at certain poker sites so I know that he is playing at the level that he says he is.
If you look at the guy you mentioned, and figure out what his hourly rate is you will see it is not that high.
I would rather play well enough to earn a very good living from it, otherwise you will not get ahead in life... but thats just my thoughts on the subject
