Hey guys, I just received the vulcan bonus 10$ and decided to gamble it, I call it a rocket. I join the highest possible table with the 10$ which is NL50 when I double up or increase stack 25% I leave table and go for next level if possible. I continue untill I go broke or when I got 1000$. Ofcourse biggest chance im going broke
My evening went like this:
NL50 with 10$ played 51 min left with 13,05$
NL50 with 10$ played 17 min left with 10,05$ (table got short, need full table for this)
NL50 with 10$ played 5 min left with 20,80$
NL100 with 20$ played 11 min left with 20$ (table got short)
NL100 with 20$ played 22 min left with 30,40$
NL100 with 20$ played 18 min left with 38,95$
NL200 with 40$ played 3 min left with 40,00$ (table got short)
NL200 with 40$ played 2 min left with 50,00$
NL200 with 40$ played 19 min left with 62,00$
NL400 with 85,25$ played 40 min left with 168,40$
At NL200 I had AA 2 times didn't get action on any of them At NL400 I was up to 126$ and had 2 free seats untill blinds where I would leave then I got TT, a short LAG opens 2,5BB UTG I 3bet him he shoves I puke and call and he had AJo. Flop 9Txr I thought yep I skip NL600 and go directly for NL1000 but he got runner runner str8 so I was down to 30,60$ why oh why did I 3bet him I folded a couple of rounds got AKo, UTG raise I shove he calls with AQo and my hand hold up. Steal some blinds and after a while I get ATo on button and it's folded to me I raise BB calls flop KQxr it goes check/check I turn broadway and he shoves mid pair+OESD and I win.
So final result after a hectic gambler night:
168,40$ and 267 VP-point
I will continue with the rocket tomorrow and keep you updated in this thread, good luck on the felt

Thx, you are right doesn't take much balls to gamble with free 10$ and that's why im doing it im not much of a gambler normally. But like you say the winnings are mine so the question is when to stop now I actually got 158$ which could be withdrawn if I made a small deposit but no fun in that so tomorrow I double or go broke im affraid it's gonna be nr 2 but let's see.

Last time I made a rocket also from 10$ it went wrong at NL400 when I got AI pre AQs or AJs vs 77 and sadly I didn't hit. Im just doing it for the fun I got a bankroll but who knows maybe I get coldfeet if I reach something like 800$ which would be 4-8BI's for me.
The stragegy:
If anyone want to try this they should be aware of the risici. This is absolutely not the way to build a bankroll, it's just to have fun possibly make a quick buck but most likely go broke. When you sit with complete bankroll it means that you have to win 100% of the times ur All-in which ofcourse is impossible. Besides that it's impossible to play proper poker with only 20BB's your variance will get higher and it will be harder to use your edge on opponent. Small pockets(22-66) and suit. con(23s-9Ts). becomes worthless because you hit that set/str8/flush so rarely that you need to get paid of the times you do which you can't with a 20BB stack. So when attempting rocket the plan is to play only the strongest hands that can flop top pair or be an over pair ofcourse. Never call a raise preflop, you either raise, reraise(most cases go all-in) or fold. This is the hands I play: AA/KK/QQ/JJ/TT---AKs/AQs/AJs---AKo/AQo---(88/99---KQs/KQo/AJo) last group is played with caution(position and vs right player as opener). If not getting any cards the opponents will notice you not playing so they will give you respect when you open so on button you can be a litlle creative and steal some blinds. When you hit top pair, got an over pair or flushdraw+over(s) it's just to get it in somehow which shouldn't be to difficult
More or less short stack strategy(SSS). The selective range of cards will make it easy for a thinking villain to adjust his range to yours which is why I don't like SSS but for a quick rocket where you normally sit around 20-30 min at the table it's ok.
Congrats on your good run so far! I hope that you continue to be succesfull and it would be a helluvan accomplishment to go from $10 to $1000 in basically no time at all....than again, with this strategy you can easilly go bust, but hey, it was free money right? Good luck sir.

Looks like you have a g8 day ahead. Hope you win big. I also see this strategy as fun and think I will try it. Have only played one similar "rocket" before but busted 3 levels into the rocket. Played 6 handed tables.

It's an interesting experiment But I see one big flaw: What if you sit with $10 at a NL50 table and you trap some guy with $40-$50 and he's ready to go all-in with his stack then you won't be paid in full because you only have $10 to throw in there?

M3 is a frequent player at the 200$ tables at Party Poker and has a BR there which is more than big enough to play there + hes a winning player.
What he describes is exactly what I do for fun sometimes too.
By the way, my funny little comeback at Titan Poker continues. I used this strategy to turn 23$ into 1720$ only through cashgames and playing out of my roll often within 3 weeks now. But after hitting the 400$ barrier, I switched to full buy in at 100$ tables, sometimes at 200$ tables. ( hand history available if sbdy doesnt believe it/wants to know) Didnt play often though, 1 session in 2 days is the average.
Before that the most succesful "rocket" was at Red Kings with a No Deposit bonus of 50$ and cashing out about 870$ 2 weeks later.
At Action poker I only hit 270$ before cashing out.

Nice experiment. I wonder how many people will try to do this and up to what limits.
