Its always nice to try and learn a few basics on different types of games without losing any money. When you get comfortable with the basics, you should start off on micro stakes and see how you go. Good luck to you

PINOTTE. I can highly recommend you give pot limit Omaha a go. Not hi/lo or PLO8, but just straight PLO. It's a fascinating game and I think it helps you develop your holdem play also, as you have to really have your wits about you in using the correct cards and assessing what others may have in their hands as possible winners.

Stars challenge starting tomorrow will be an Omaha cash game. Expect lots of fish to jump in, so plenty of money to be won there if you know the basics

Millions? I have never ever reached more than 10k in any site in play money. A bit boring playing normal and most of the times, im playing for an all in fun
You dont like omaha, but it can be profitable. I like most omaha h/l. It is better than badugi

Have just seen the new stars Omaha challenge so hopefully will get in there later this evening and make a few pounds playing with all those lovely non omaha players who are taking on the challenge in the hope of winning a dollar! Good luck to you all with whatever you choose to do with your play.

Hehe and i´ve heard in the past that some crazy guys buying play money with real money in a internet auction. It seems, that they want to have the feeling like an high roller. But ok, for some beginners is that a good thing to try some different poker games.

It would have been possible before PS started to sell play money. Before that you could transfer some to another player. However the maximum you could had in play money at the time was 20 million.
Now there is not BR limit however player transfer are limited to 1,000 a day so if you want to buy you have to go with PS.
And yes i think it is good for trying different poker games although it is more loose with play then real money.

Its good to try out different games, like, Omaha,PLO, Razz, chinese poeker, there are many games out there, but the problem is, when u try to learn them by playing with play money, if often the same as if u were playing TH with play money, allins, donk infested tournaments were they absolutely dont care, coz tey have absolutely nothing to lose, all u can get out of that, is the basic of the game, and some what how to play it, but when u have something on the line to lose, then things become real

Not exactly true SBEP it is maybe a little bit looser however i have played some for $2.20 entry fee and saw some players that did not know the game at all and was playing it.
As example i have seen two players in different hand putting all their chips and don't take cards with four cards of the same suit in Badugi.

They might be players with tickets, that had no clue about the game. other wise i dont see the reason why paying to play a game that you dont have a clue. And why doing this, before checking the rules of the game, is another story
