I did hear some news a while back if I remember rugbt, and this is not always right since my memory isn't getting younger with time, I believe that computers are capable of beating human players in any game, it is just when and not if.

Hey pinotte. Was actually watching some of the heads up battles on twitchtv.com between libratus and the Jason les the pro. Interesting but in the end the players i think end up coming out on top more.

Never heard of it. I gad heard of another such test in the past, with not good results. This one seems to do very well, winning with all players from what i can see in the screenshot. I wonder if there is a good program as this operating right now in some of the poker sites

nevery heard about this and this is first news for me!dont know what they want to prove with this, but its same, when we had first game in chess between computer and human!hope that this software wont finish in some peoples hand, who will use it on poker sites!
It seems soon come to an end in the terminator ... computers are getting smarter and smarter ... even in such an unpredictable game of poker as the computer seems to win from living players .. All this leads to sad thoughts

Its humans playing poker. Its also humans designing the software. If they can make a bot that can adapt differently in each game, its game over The only distinction between the two, will be the human emotion, while playing the game.

actually it's no big secret in tech world that AI is coming after YOU. it doesn't really matter which industry you are working in, what services, products you are using, one day- and it seems that day is not too far away AI is gonna surround us from from out toes and a*****e right to out scalps. and yes it will beat the crap out of nl holdem players too.

I mean assuming that day is going to happen somewhere in between of the inevitable zombie apocalypse, nuclear war, alien invasion, sealevels rising and the second coming of Jesus - I would say to the AI that hurry the f*ck up...

I said that computer is capable of beating players and it turned out right this time and it will be happening in the future, simply computer programs have so mamy data and they can use this data to make very good moves in all situations and players make simple mistakes sometimes and this makes them lose.

Pretty much when they are making a program like this, they incorporate in the use of statistics. So every time a hand goes in show down, the program keeps a history. Like using a poker tracker. At least this is my guess in order to make it more accurate.

Artificial intelligence is everywhere. Driverless cars on the roads, robotic vacuums, Google Home, AlphaGo, Libratus, etc. How artificial intelligence will affect our lives in the next 15 years, positively or negatively?

These are above just fairly well programmed softwares to be honest - real AI's (or rather AI projects) are different from them in terms of their ability of adapting and learning things on their own.
