i allways find when im chasing money i lose (ie trying to force hands, chasing loses) when im not enjoying playing its a recipe for disaster, my do"s and donts, number 1 never play tired EVER, number 2 never play when the game is boring you as you tend to make stupid calls to liven things up, number 3 playing to win money (i know this is why we all play but i tend to force hands when i chase) number 4 on the piss, my favorite i love playing drunk and i tend to do quite well with a rapid growth in funds allthough normally followed by a rapid decline, number 5, when you can see that killer card on the river before it is dealt (not your day), out of all of these playing tired or bored would have to be the worst, in my opinion.

I agree, enthusiasm is the key stone to winning at poker. Many times I've sat down at a session only to start surfing in between hands, not good. Stay focused at the table, it'll give you an edge over those who keep themselves pre-occupied. Thumbs Up

I talk to myself about whats happening at the table, it really helps although it does make me a little crazy Big Smile

I agree you have to stay focused when playing on cash tables, but when I play sit & go's I always play some stupid game too, it helps me not to call stupid hands, I only play top hands this way. of course you can multi-table for not getting bored Blink

I tottaly agree with you. you need to enjoy the game in order to get paid Smile when I start playing with the tought I want that money, guarantee I'll lose it all Smile but when I play just to have fun I usually win quite a bit.

It's ok to have fun, but you have to be commited to make money also, if you play only for fun you will end up losing ine the lung run.

my point was if im enjoying playing, normally im winning, i know its sounds stupid because no one enjoys losing, we all get them wonderfull moon lit nights when nothing seems to go wrong and i for one actualy start contemplating giving up my day job (until the next day ) when every f#cking hand no matter how good it is finds a way to get beaten, i had a perfect example on tuesday night whilst playing at tony G, i had pkt 4s i hit my set on the flop and someone calls all in (sweet mary jane) so i call, the flop was 8,5,4 his cards pkt 9s, turn 5 river 5 now thats just fkn just crap, and that started the worst run i can remember, i was hitting flushes on the flop and getting beaten, i hit 2 pair on the flop Q,10, flop was A,Q,10 caller had A,10, no raise, beaten, just to name a few of many, and i must say i didnt enjoy it one bit, neither did my bank roll lol, i was trying to win money, not playing for the enjoyment of the game. though with luck like that who needs bad luck.
