Douglas "WCGRider" Polk admitted in a video blog a week ago, March 8 Wednesday, that when he was just starting out in the world of pro poker, he idolized Tom Dwan, who was once considered by many as one of the most-feared online cash game players in the world.
However, these days, he said he is no longer a big fan.
In the video blog, the 28-year-old Polk said that Dwan, who goes by the online ni[...] Read more » Doug Polk: Tom Dwan’s gambling debts could be bigger than previously thought

well there you go... hansen, blom now dawn... all of the hyper aggressors are sitting on the toilet crying about the days when they ruled the world... who knows maybe they just played their part in a well organized social engineering scheme, where they were given cash to play stupid style and make random sh1theads believe that this is how poker should be played... then everyone just parted with their money... as usual, 10% of the dudes took cash from remaining 90%.

hahaha that sounds like a conspiracy theory. but you know what.. anything is possible. it wouldnt be such a bad idea to do so. it just doesnt seem to work out, if on the other side sit a rich drunken russian who doesnt care about money and act like: "wtf, i show you whos got the bigger balls" and calls anyting because he feels provoked
I am having a hard time believing that these man have had seven figures to spare/to spend on an addict gambler yet they cannot pay out a fragment of this to a PI to actually find that addicts whereabouts. Idiots all around.

I think Tom Dwan should be ashamed of himself, if it is him, and pay up. These bets were put on in good faith and should be honored. The amounts are huge and lets hope it gets resolved soon

Interesting story, I always think that olayers like dwan are really good cash players and that they are just looking for finding rich opponents to make some easy money, but this story shows that thi gs are not so easy for such well known players as dwan

I just saw an interview with a pro and he pretty much came out (without mentioning names) and said Tom Dwan owes him 7 figures from him placing bet's through tom on sporting events and never getting paid and him basically not ever responding to him.
He seems like a real degenerate from what it sounds like. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt but how many stories can be lies? You're looking very shaky Tom sort yourself out mate.

Yeah I think he's really in a bad spot. Possibly owe the triads some cash now ? Playing in Macau wouldn't be surprised.
Not worth ruining your name over and never getting a game again. But greed will do that to people.

Probably he is the only one that knows how high that debt is. Thats just a story confirming that once a professional doesnt mean you will be your entire life successful making millions out of it. There is the other side of the coin too.

I have done some serious sh*t when I was in my 20s and early 30s. How old is Tom Dwan now? Around 30? He can't continue to live like a spoiled kid forever. Life catches up with him, eventually.

Life is gonna catch up with everybody sooner or later - the real question is he gonna live long enough to pay these men back or they will just choose it to settle this the old way and set an example out of him.

The funny thing is that I didn't think that way 15 or 20 years ago...
Well.., actually, I still think I can get away with things I have done in the past. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, isn't it?

voulgaris... nice surname, immediately a picture of a dude who spend most of his time with 3+ sets of melons comes out from the back of the spoiled mind, kinda you know, living the vulgar life- pot, vodka and babes... many babes. apostolos dude, don't give any more money to dwan, he's a loser, better just spend your cash on vulgar life and enjoy yourself.

guys a bit of a sucker, giving 'dwan' money to place bets on his behalf....after how long do you do that if the guy isnt paying you your winnings, and why not make the bets yourself unless it was illegal - plus its not new so could of happened before dwan went off the grid in macau. also ivey is involved with dwan owing jungleman. nothing else in the world of poker is as mysterious or as captivating as dwan

So! With a niche in the market why wouldn't someone seek to exploit it for benefit for themselves and hang out to dry those puppets with whom they play their game and let them believe they are better than they are and then when they don't make it leave them handing out to dry. Poker is more than wild bluffs! But then, perhaps this was one of the best!

There might be more to the story according to what robbo is saying There is also that possibility, which is a bit extreme, placing bets for other people. Which he keeps losing So again why giving someone that unlucky, money, to place bets for you
