That is the question. In theory the player funds should be held in ring fenced accounts, seperated from the companys funds. But so it should have been with FT, too. And we all know, how that turned out.

Would have been great if all players funds were secured for every single site.
I have lost money more than once so far, and i know the feeling.
Should have been a "law" for all sites.

I hope the players will be able to get paid after all

i just wonder what the hell is going to happen to players funds... the owners now have to make a tough decision- either give players their money back, or invest it in never-ending all inclusive holidays (alcohol, weed and hookers), real luxury estate and private yachts and planes. tough choice...

what do you think is gonna happen to players funds ? poof its gone into the air!

To read this informations are verry bad, because PKR have a especially 3d software and it was important to have a lot of poker rooms and network for different promos and bonusses. Perhaps PS buy their network and we are on the way to a monopol...

PKR and its software were ahead of its time when it came out, funny though that it never catched on. Though if you play poker with 'virtual reality' it is pretty similar to playing on PKR. The no deposit bonus was big a few years ago but as many have said - due to the software being ahead of times it struggled on laptops which meant I barely played at the site.

marketing and promos aside, the true reason for its down fall must make the owners scratch heads as stars has bad promos and yet traffic is till 100k at times.

I too am interested in seeing what happens to the players money un the accounts. There was many case when such money was simply gone, no matter what company say about players money is always safe with us it is somehow disappear. I hope this time all will be well and players get their money back

On other forums the posters are not very optimistic. It seems the player funds are not protected in the case of insolvency, and the Microgaming network had had a few cases of rooms going bust, where the players received little.

It seems at the moment the players with outstanding balances are unable to access their account and/or cashier to initiate a withdrawal of funds. Let's hope the issue gets resolved soon.

kinda scary stuff seeing such things happen, i remember back in the days i took some promo offer via brm for pkr and managed to make a dollar or two out of this, so glad that i was able to witdraw my money won and exchange this e money to real paper money and then to vodka and then down the drain... that's the usual cycle for me...

This is why in all rooms no matter what you need to have money in at all times,
that you can afford to lose.
There is no need building a huge bankroll over and over.
You need to keep hitting that cash out button often, making sure, you are not gonna lose it all.

Yes like Mober say it is better to cashout as often as you can and keep only little amount of money in you account, a deposit is instant with ewallets so why not just have money there and if you kose your bankroll just deposit and continue playing. No need to risk your money

Of course, to save money on a poker account is not a very smart action ... if something happens that then the money will be lost ... of course in solid poker rooms it's almost impossible, but a few years ago with Fulltilt was this ...

With most of the credible rooms doing the transactions in like a day, in and out,
this is the case in order to feel more secure.
Leaving money in, for your a session or two and then redeposit.
You can gain from deposit bonuses also Smile

Thats a new and interesting development.
If this has happened, then it means players will have access to their money after all,
which is a good thing of course.
Wonder what will happen with all the ones that have account in both.

You mean you did not liked all the things you could actually turn off in the software so it won't be a distraction while you play?

I believe PKR was one of the most trustworthy companies in the online poker industry. Unlike their competitors, their headquarters were situated onshore, not in seamy offshore tax havens. However, their terms and conditions* with regard to the player funds (that are (were) held in a unique account) seem sketchy and ambiguous.

* “In the case of UK customers, PKR retains all player funds in a segregated client funds account, separately from all other operating and corporate funds. This is in accordance with the Basic level of protection and as set out on the Gambling Commission’s website. In the case of insolvency, these funds would not be protected.”

G'day mates

So am I reading this correctly that PKR is actually know gone or are going under?
If this is true then I feel sorry for all it's members who had fund in their poker accounts.
Those funds are know probably lost forever.
I truly hope thing work out for the best.
be cool

so if i understood it correctly by reading a couple of posts above is that pkr struck some sort of deal with 888 poker and players will be able to access their bankrolls? if this is the case then i guess it's a sad story with a happy ending, at least if you're not an investor in pkr.
