UFC star Conor McGregor apparently has signed a two-year contract with a Las Vegas casino, the gig being a nightclub host.
This would essentially mean that McGregor's UFC career would be put on the back burner as he will fulfill his new job to host post-fight parties at nightclubs in the Encore casino-resort.

Ugh, as if we need a reminder that "professional" sports is all driven by gambling and endorsement/advertising contracts, even amateur sport isn't immune. Pro boxing's reputation is now only slightly higher than pro wrestling, and UFC is taking a dive too. This sort of thing literally makes me sad. At least it's becoming obvious what all know or should know already.

Smart move. It is surely better to host a few parties after the fights., than to have your brain beaten out of you in the ring. Interesting tho, that he doesn`t expect to have a title to defend after that superfight with Mayweather,

Well Pochui, you can weep tears of joy and excitement for Mr. McGregor, and I'll weep tears of sadness for the fate of sport. As long as we weep, preferably into our drinks. You know, the more I think about this the worse it gets. When a professional athlete gets sponsored or contracted by the gambling industry you have to wonder how honest everyone is being. Who is to say that McGregor's contract in Vegas has NOTHING TO DO with the results of the fight or the money made on it?

Anyone who wants to win an extra pay and Conor McGregor signs this contract with Vegas Casino for some extra dollars. He will do this as a host why not. If someone says to be host to some TV shows you would say no? I think you would sign that contract immediately. He will not fight in those matches and everything is all right with his Vegas casino contract.

He did some kind of transition there. That will be guaranteed money, comparing to the fights where he had to win. Such moves come form athletes when they realize, they are not up to the standards

This looks like a job that will suit Conor down to the ground. He strikes me has the kind of person who would thoroughly enjoy a good night out and be quite the party animal
