Skrill new fees.  0
Have you received yet the email from skrill, saying about the new fees?
They are saying they have lowered the fee for transfers to 1,45%, BUT there is no
cap to it.
The changes in fees the last couple of years are huge.
They used to have cap for a couple of dollars, for the transfers
and now they have transformed it, like it is a currency exchange fee.

Aha , i have a neteller acc as well and i have a master card from them , but not for skrill , both of them have the same message ! But from neteller i had one more ! Saying -
An annual card fee of $10 (USD) will be charged for Net+ cards (excluding Net+ virtual cards). This fee will be deducted from your NETELLER Account on each annual anniversary of the date the card was issued. You must ensure there is sufficient balance in your NETELLER Account to cover the annual membership fee.

Isn't it cool , pay for nothing now ! ( + I had to pay 10 euro to have the card made )

Yeah, on Skrill webpage it says, “*From December 14 2017, the Send Money fee will be reduced from 1.9% to 1.45%. A minimum Send Money fee of EUR 0.50 applies with no maximum fee.”
So, I guess when you are sending money exceeding approximately EUR 34.50 per transaction, there will be a pro-rata charge which applies depending on the total amount of money transferred out. Does this apply to all Skrill account holders regardless of their VIP status?

Skrill significantly lowered the quality of services by canceling their Master prepaid card to the every country outside EU currency zone. Since then, I do not care much about their services.
Reduced fees cannot repair the damage.

As Skrill and Neteller are owned by the same parent company, and have a near total market share, they can get away with such antics. Until there is more competition with better conditions for the end user

Bitcoin ( and cryptocurrency in general) transactions are way cheaper... beside more faster Blink

That's the way to go to overcome big companies market power

Cheaper yes, but faster? There is already a significant delay in bitcoin transactions compared to the early days. That situation will not get better, if more people would use it, as this would mean even more transcations, and even more delays.

New collecting from skrill somehow hasn't pleased me. They are good if to do the large translations. In my case for me they will become unprofitable as I often do small transactions, now from which will take away the commission of EUR 0.50.

And this is exactly what happens when there is no competition.
First there was one between them, and that helped keeping the fees down.
Now as the time goes they are keep raising everything.
The cap of 20 USD for them wasnt enough, raised from 1.5-2 USD it was at one point,
now its cap free....

Time to move on, and look for alternatives. Cryptocurrencies have already been mentioned, and a lot of rooms trying to implement them. Some rooms offer Paypal still, even if this might not last forever.

well yeah, have to admit that the new fees are not very attractive, probably I will be pondering whether it is time to ditch those two services (neteller and skrill). this actually is not a good trend as competition is really big in this market and there are plenty of alternatives to those methods.

I wonder what is going to happen when the Blackstone Group buys Paysafe?
Positive changes would be very appreciated after last year's downfall of Skrill services.
Reissuing our Master cards will be the best possible option for us. Let's hope for the best! Blink

I too remember to use skrill for my withdraw and deposit to poker rooms, I used it for long time, but then they change situation and it becomes too expensive to use this ewallet. So I closed my account and I think there is no chance to open it again, now i hear that situation is bad once again to them, more expensive again... Disagree

They many have higher fees, but there are many that do not trust crypto currencies yet.
And if you think about it, which one is mot likely to fail and disappear,
the USD/EURO/GBP for example, or the bitcoin.

This of course when we are talking about keeping your money in the specific currency.
Cause when it comes to a payment, you can convert it to btc, do your purchase and you are done.

well now that I checked the situation I can confirm that neteller has introduced a yearly fee on the physical card, so called net+ card, but the virtual mastercard is still free, so I guess this is a reason to still have this ewallet at least for bankrollmob withdrawals.

oh gees, transaction fees. well ten dollar for a card per year isn't that bad right? I mean you must grind that as a profit. In the future world skrill and netteller will be less important, but for now those are here and there are also some other upcoming companies. so check it out and tell us about your low rake eWallets and then we can all enjoy the wonderful world of digital currency exchange. enjoy your day! Thumbs Up

I received a message from them and this is very good. The taxes have fallen with 0.45% - 1.9% to 1.45%. but me not yet checked to make a calculation to see it's true or not. If they sent this message then it is clear even if skrill is not so serious. I have encountered some problems with them and at first they lied but this is another story. Anyway it's good. Thumbs Up

I was using skroll for very long time, it was called moneybookers for years, then skrill and maybe in last year skrill got bad with fees and no customer service so I stopped using this ewallet, then I go to neteller but i see that it is same owners and fees are not goid too, so maybe it is time to leave this ewallet too?

Imagine how much additional money they will be getting now from the yearly fee.
We see changes in fees regularly with then lately.
And they will keep doing, as long as they have the lead.
Lets see how things will go next year with crypto coins.
