Party Poker $1.86 - $6000  +4
As some of you know I am paying off my £12k wedding through poker winnings (which is going well btw, I consistently hit the £200 a month payment to repay what I borrowed).

I now have a new challenge, to try and return to the Jamaican hotel that we got married in. When we were out there we made a few new friends and they are all going out next summer on same weeks as friends. I intend for my hubby and myself to join them, with our little girl.

I intend to try and make $6000 from party alone, to pay for the holiday. Over 17 months, that is $350 a month. It is approx. $12 a day. I won't make that at start but as my bankroll grows, so should my profit.

I am starting from a bankroll of $1.86.
I also have a $44 fight ticket.

I will be playing the 1c sats that pay 50 seats.
Thursday UK freeroll.
Ladies Thursday freeroll.
Once I get a bit of a BR I will play low level cash and mtt games.
I am also starting with 2000 brm points, and when I get to 5000 I will withdraw to party as a bankroll boost.

This challenge is seperate from the wedding one, which will still make £200 from but on other sites. Party will be my sole site for this challenge.

I intend to keep this blog live and will update at least 2 times a night (start and finish) but often more if I am running well.

------------
Oh and of course I will be playing the Sunday BRM FR!

Good luck and tell us the news!

Hi IceQueenAce, you are starting a very ambitious challenge. Making six thousands from $1.86 seems pretty hard! We will constantly monitor your perfomance. Wish you the best of luck Worship Worship

The best of luck with that IQA (not that you need it ).
I will look in and see how you are doing and rail you if i see you on party as i'm back on there myself for a change.
Oh and whats with the Ladies thursday freeroll ? isn't that a bit sexist ? Big Smile

Good luck turning your initial capital into a substantial amount of money! Hopefully you get a good boost to your bankroll at the early stages of your journey.
You might also want to try $2.20 and $5.50 Double or Nothing (10-man & 6-man) sit and go tournaments. It's not difficult to beat these games at 15%+ ROI.
Good luck!

G'day Mates

IceQueenAce I have just read your new blog post and about your challenge.

I really want to see you succeed! I too have an account on Party.

My name on Party is ... "x100101001x". I would like to bump up your initial bankroll immediately for this challenge.

I can currently spare $10 US.

I know it is not much but after this Sundays game who knows I might be able to help even more.
Let me know if you want the bankroll boast and if you do what your name on Party is.

Wishing you all the very best.

This sounds like one heck of a challenge and, i for one, will be very interested to see how it pans out. You seem like a very determined and driven person and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if you were successful. Good luck on the tables!!!

Thank you for all the kind messages...

teddy - yes it is very sexist, gutted!

Tony - thanks I will be playing some of them as soon as the bankroll allows.

Ronin - That is a very kind offer, thank you. I would like to politely decline because it would be cheating a bit and also, I do have a bit of money on skrill/other sites that I can use (I start each month with $100 roughly and withdraw the rest). I started on $1.86 simply because that was all I had in my account. That said, my username on Party is IceQueenAce if you want to follow me!

doubletop - thank you. I am 'quietly confident'

ok so yesterday was a weird, weird day.

MTT's were a wipe-out, I wasted my ticket too. I didn't play particularly great and ran into big hands.

I took a look at cash games and sat at 1c/2c with $1.00
Doubled it easily then ran my AA into q3 and lost.
Didn't have the minimum to sit so played 3 sit n go heroes. Got the minimum ($1.00) and sat again.
Doubled easily again then crashed AQ into AA on a Qxx board.
Built up again then crashed JJ into AA on low flop.
This bust me. And left me with some thinking to do.

I used to play low cash on party but stopped when it became harder to get a game that suited me. I am not a good cash player, but I did find that sit with the minimum, play tight, double up then move on.
Otherwise I find as soon as my stack gets bigger, I lose it all.
I know it is not the most efficient way to play, but it did the job for growing a bankroll slowly.

I have decided I am going to 'loan' myself $10 from skrill. As soon as it is doubled to $20, I will be withdrawing the $10 and be back on track for the challenge.
I know this is slightly cheating, and I know I can build a decent from zero. It is more a time thing, I don't have time to wait till I win cash from a freeroll. I will be expecting to double and withdraw by Sunday night.

------------
End of day 1: -$1.86

------------
I didn't deposit in the end.

I contacted support asking if there was a deposit bonus or free tickets for depositing the $10 and explained the challenge.

They came back and said good luck with the challenge, I have put $5.50 tournament dollars in your account. Very happy with this and I consider rakeback/free stuff from sites as part of the challenge and not cheating Smile

Played 5 x $1.10 games.

3 DYM's for a $6.12 profit.
2 18 man bounty hounter games, the first I came second for $2.70 (and taking NO bounties!) and the second I bust.

Current BR: $8.82

Yeah, cash games can be brutal sometimes.
Well done on winning 3 DoN SnGs and finishing 2nd place in the bounty tournament. That's a pretty good start. I play a couple of DoN SnGs a day, so we might get seated at the same table. Be careful. I am so unpredictable.

Ah well finally an interesting challenge to follow, it's been a while since we had one in the forum. It is a huge ambitious one but a doable one so I wish you good luck.

You ran good yesterday, IceQueenAce. Well done.
I guess you can now play any low buy-in cash games and tournaments of your choice with a US$30 online poker bankroll. Looking good. Keep it up!

I still have to be really careful, I'm not quite rolled enough for buying in for $1, comfortably.

I am looking at roughly 40x and so quite short on the $1 games I am starting on.

I can certainly pick from a wider range of games now though, which is good and I am not playing knowing 3 busts and I have lost my BR.

Yesterday really helped with that.

I think I am going to fall just short of the 25 points needed to get to the $5 bonus mark which is annoying as that would have been another nice boost, but I wont risk my BR just to get to it.

------------
Incase anyone is interested (and this is a terribly small sample), rough figures (maybe a few cents out) on game type:

Cash: -$7.47
SnG: $17.60
MTT: $17.64

I think you've done the hardest part of the work by this time now. It's very hard to grow from pennies to several dozens, and with $30 any strong player( and I have no doubt you are) is able to move up faster. It's only a question of time now. Good luck, and keep us up to date!
Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
