So I'm playing 1/2NL at the casino. I was BB with only 9ppl and had about 160$ at this point. I get A Q off suit and I raise to 15$ with 5 limper's and 3ppl called me. Pot b4 flop was 64$ Flop come 7h Ah 2d. I bet 45$ and 2ppl called me and turn comes a 9d and pot at this point is 199$. I know 1 of them was chasing a Flush and the other had an A with a lower kicker and obviously not 2 pair as he would of raised at flop because of the scary flush draw. So I push all in 100$ the guy with the ace was 1st to act after me he tought about it for 30second and obviously made an easy lay down. He showed me his A b4 folding. The guy with a flush draw obviously knew I had at least a pair of A's if not 2 pair and that I was 4 to 1 favorite to win. He thinks for about 3min and says well I guess I have to gamble and calls. And the lucky mother... hits his Flush on the river. Oh ya he had Qh4h.

Question: Was that not the perfect way to play that hand and would any of you call that 100$ with a flush draw.

Difficult to judge the betsizes without seeing other hands at the table.

The call with a pure flushdraw is a mistake. He has to pay 100 to win 400, so he needs 25% equity. A pure flushdraw has less than 20%. But a guy who calls a raise to 7BB preflop with Q4s will not fold here.

Ya, he called $13 more preflop with q4, I guess he wants to play some hands.

He's only getting 3-1 odds on the turn so it was a bad call.

Well he had 160$ left when I made the 100$ bet and he just lost a big pot earlier and rebought for 200$. so he had to call about 2/3rd's of his stack. For a 20% chance to win. He should of folded preflop but decided to come in. Flop was nice for him. So he had to call the 45$ bet at flop even do not a lot of ppl would do. And turn was horrible for him my move I did on turn would make any1 else fold. If I was playing against a PRO like Phil Hellmuth or Daniel Negraneau and this was a limit they would play at. They would all fold no matter wut and I can bet you 1000000$ on that. He made a fish move and got lucky. I'm asking do, could have I played that any better ?

you couldnt have played it better, you couldnt raise anymore (maybe pre flop) but not after, you played it as good as can be expected, just bad luck thats all.

I would have played it the same way - except for betting a little larger on the flop ( say $55 instead of $45 ) but $45 should do the job.

If I'd been the fish - I would never have played Q4s - I would never have called a raise - I would have called $45 ( but not $55 ) on the flop given the pot odds with 3 players in and I would never have called the river. God bless the people who do though cause that's our profit. Blink

It always hurts when you get beat up by fish, but if they win once in a while hopefully they'll come back and long term you'll be the winner.

Don't beat yourself up and don't hate the fish - keep you emotions under control - keep playing solid and collect your cash Smile - well most times anyway

"Play it better"

Actually no. You could bet more preflop and on the flop, but i doubt that that would have made any difference. If they are calling a 7BB raise preflop with that junk, they will also call a 10BB raise.
