The European Poker Tour (EPT) returned last week after owner PokerStars decided to scrap the new name of the series, PokerStars Championships, that was introduced in 2016.
Russian poker pro Aresniy Karmatskiy became the first champion of the new era of the EPT after having bested a field of 861 runners in the $3,300 buy-in EPT Sochi Main Event.

this player who is a year and a while professional poker player has an impressive gain in online games. Over two million dollars is a very large amount. There are many players who fail to do that in a short period of time. I think this player has poker in the blood now, he learned this game very well.

we can see how poker sites fight for live tournaments in sochi and they want to have bigger and bigger tournaments!this was great prize for winners with big buy in!but most important thing is that he got platinum pass which he can use on other tournaments for free!this is great!

Yes i too think that this player is very good on vorm in last year and this year. To have 2 millions of dollars in online poker in one year is amazing results. Alzo now more than 800,000 in live poker tournaments. He must know some new rules in poker so he wins more thsm other people

Aresniy Karmatsky played certainly not perfect ... I watched a few days this broadcast and I saw that he does not bluff at all ..... and in one hand he almost flew out of the tournament two jacks against the ace and the king .... his saved the jack on the river ... and after that he also said that he plays better than the opponent
Congratulations to Arseniy Karmatskiy on winning the first main event of the 2018 European Poker Tour. A very nice result for a player, who plays professionally only 1 year. I'm glad that the well-known brand EPT is back.
Very interesting reading about all these russian newcomers who are so fresh as professional players yet gathered a sizeable amount of online winnings in very short amount of time - almost in no time. Maybe the american elections was not the only thing Russia been trolling hard with bots these past few years.

well its not strange that lot of players come from domestic country,same when is tournament in prague and other cities!russia is country with lot of rich players who can afford this and to play without lot of risk of losing!

Bowie refers to something else and he is right because there in pokerstars are many Russian players who are very strange game and their style is a bizarre one. If you make a complaint they say it's ok but i think a different institution should check these cases. In this case, i think this player has learned a lot about the poker holdem game.

That good that decision more correct of the ps because to change the name of the EPT would be a tremendous s**t losing the essence of the tournament that good that was the old mone because then yes I will be able to throw a and spike kkkkkk

Well, yes and no. Many russian players have strange styles but I was about the issue that despite the high amount of local registered players in host countries the final table used to be diverse nationalitywise - especially on an EPT tour. Well, that certainly wasn't the case here.
