Posted by JoeJeavons: I like this idea - We would have to sort out an agreement between investors, BRM and the player(s)... We could also have more than one player per tournement, which would give us better odds of cashing. OOooo the possibilities
This idea has got a lot of poserbilety but it needs a lot more working out.
After reading this thread I had a look at Pokerstars Q&A and it seems it is not against there terms for a syndicate to bankroll a player. as thay state here.
"If you have an agreement to share a bankroll, stake, or split profits with your friend, then in the interest of game integrity you must not play at the same cash game table or in the same Sit & Go tournament."
So maybe this may work
I think the hardest part of this idea will be who the syndicate wil select to back

i dont think any of the good players is up for this. whats the point of playin a 4-5 hour tourny and then share the win with a dozen people. its the same as when you play a tourny with a smaller buy in...and none will be mad at you if you fail.

Whats the point?
- They wont be risking their own money - They stand to make money - Good for the community - Good advertising for BRM

this turns in a lotto community i simply dont think its worth its time to play a $2000 buy in tourny wich is surely hard to play cos there will be only expert players. what im tryin to say is, that i dont think anyone is willing to spend his time (since we talk about a pro player, who earn his money by poker) for a big tourny while he could play $100 buy in tourny vs average players > more chances to win.
$2000 buy in: expert opponents, share with dozen people $100 buy in: average opponents the amount of money will be the same. except he has not to risk his own money. pro players dont make their money all day long vs playing pros, they make most of the money by playin so called fishes in my opinion. so the $100 buy in would be a wise choice i think.
why good advertise for BRM ? not like BRM will flash up in the pokerroom beside his name ?
im still not convinced that anyone is going to do that.

It doesnt have to be a pro player, it could be anyone, say the winner of the party poker $500 free roll, would you rather play the safe and the draw teddy?? as for advertising, it would give affiliates another option to display, and you could name the registration "team bankkroll mob" word of mouth would soon spread, most people would only dream of being a part of a tourny like that and i think most would jump at the chance to be involved if only in a very small way. it would create a team invironment and help the forum become much more active as well as getting a lot more people interested.

the question is if its a good investment to trust on my hard earned (cough) BRM points if its just "someone" who i dont even know sarcasm off.
the same what you said about this forum counts for me too. im also not here for the BRM points but to exchange experience and being with like-minded people. and if i get points for this...then its just great gift from BRM. so if its a good advertise for BRM then im in.
but i still dont get it. where can u put "sponsored by bankrollmob" in the registration? ive never seen such a option. normaly you just register with your account and thats it. explain pls

Love the idea, of course everyone would want the seat, but at the same time not in case they let people down, i think the idea of a freeroll to decide the winner is good, i will ask action poker if they would allow it, but in princible the only problem is wheather the player and the stakeholders can find a weigh to garuntee that any winnings is split evenly, this is the only place we would need BRMB to hold the money or the site, i think they would be interested and i would be up for putting up some points, Great idea!
It's a nice idea. As for me I don't think I'll do it. I know there are some good people here but if I am going to gamble with my money I will do it myself.

I only started this thread to start a debate on ways we could improve the site, which i think is a healthy thing, i dont have all the answers, and if something like this was to get up and running it would take much more time, effort, and know how than i am capable of, but one day someone will come up with a "winner" and we"ll all benifet from that, so anyone who has an idea, let it be known, no ones going to bite.
