Disconnection Protection  0
I can't believe how many times this happened. I bet, my opponent disconnects and they get to see free cards. I report it to Action Poker Staff and they say it's not possible to prove it...I think it's obvious, disconnects when they don't want to call, reconnects in time for the next hand..

This one got me mad, I bet $22 into $15 pot and guy disconnects..Pisses me right off cause the there was no way in hell he was going to call $22 bet. Than he laughed when he reconnected to rub it in..

Action Poker Support told me it's my fault for gambling, I told him, there's a difference between gambling and getting cheated. Than he told me something like everyone can do it so it's fair.

Whatever, haven't decided what I'm going to do.

Have you ever had a s**t hand and your opponent gets timed out when you were about to check, you know hes been disconnected so you bet instead and take the pot. Cool Big Smile Smile Blink

Simply play somewhere else. If you have a very stable connection yourself you could go to ipoker for example. They have some tables without DP.

And the answer of the support is a real joke. Shock

Yeah, this is the problem not only on action poker. The same thing on party poker. But sometimes I really disconnected there so I didn't play No DP tables.

Some protection should be available but there are also people who abuse it. Just because something is available to all does not make it fair.

Yes very annoying geneyuss, always play at no DP tables, action poker hasnt got these?

i dont get it. i mean online poker is no 3D person shoter with high resolution that requires a high end pc with 10GB connection to play online...why the dc´s?
everyone is responsible for its own PC/connection so no to DP.
well i understand the support that he cant do anything about it. but his answer is really a joke. this sounds like a invitation to do that your self next time.

Actually T3ddy, many people may have connections problems. Having a very fast connectionnn doesn't mean you are protected from being disconnected. In fact, if your connection/provider is bad, you will have the same probability of being disconnected while playing games (there is no relation between "high resolution that requires a high end pc" and internet connection), while downloading or while doing nothing.
Wifi is a good example : it is often unstable and you sometimes you get disconnected without any reason.

About DP abuse : I don't understand why Action Poker does nothing about it. Every poker room closes the account of the abuser and it is very easy to recognize cheaters.

i see. well i seem to have a good provider then Smile
back the days ive been even downloading things while playin games and never had any probs/not even lag. so it seem a bit strange to me that people disconnect by playin poker.
but i think to recognize if someone doing it on purpose or just lost his connection isnt that easy then ?

you should try ladbrokes dont have that here, ps u by any change malcom from malcom in the middle?

It is easy to recognize because there is usually someone from the poker site who checks the hands of the player (you have to report him of course). If he sees that these disconnections are strange (e.g. only in draws/medium pair/etc.), the user may be warned or simply banned.

Always hated DP and it always encourages cheaters.

However, about a week ago, for the first time ever I genuinely got disconnected in the middle of a hand at the perfect "i don't want to call but I would like to try for my draw" moment.

When I reconnected, a few hands later, I found out I'd gone on to suck out on the player by hitting my draw.It was a decent size pot too.

I felt quite bad, apologized to the player, and explained it was genuine. He was fine about it, accepted my apology, and we continued with the pleasant table talk.

Well I still prefer no DP tables but I'm glad that I've benefited once from the feature and if it should happen then an apology goes a long way in retaining some respect with your fellow players.

intentcity4, ya, I see that a lot in tournaments. When they're sitting out just raise and they auto fold. DP at Action poker is different, instead of folding, they are considered all in and they do not have to commit any more chips.

doomdy, Action poker doesn't have no DP tables...sucks.

Today, I flopped a set, my computer froze for a second and my hand is folded Sad Too bad that doesn't count as DP. Than I see raise and reraise, I got sick to my stomach Sad

I think I will try another pokerroom, most other sites have no DP rooms.

p.s. I'm not malcom from malcom in the middle lol Smile

they removed dc protection from stars now the only reason sites used it was because the internet 5 yrs ago use to suck and people were on dial up

This method is disgusting. The room should punish these "rats" for playing like this.
Hmm. you should leave them, and find a better room, if they don't want to solve this problem. And it seems like they don't want to...

hmm well all I have had my issues with action poker ( not these, god i feel like a noob), but i guess i usually dont run into this sort of thing,( or what happened to me), but then again maybe i do and just dont realise it cause i dont think like that. Anyway best of luck to you and maybe Shaun from action will comment or help you out or maybe take some suggestions from the players on the site.

Maybe that is a thought to have a suggestion for Action thread. Smile
