It doesn’t surprise a lot of us that doing one thing for a long time can lead to boredom, but if it allows one to earn money, then it wouldn’t be such a bad thing, right? However, for one poker pro, he believes he’s done playing the game. In fact, he even announced it in his Youtube channel recently.
Doug Polk said he doesn’t enjoy playing poker anymore, and because of t[...] Read more » Doug Polk announces in Youtube video, “I’m not gonna play poker anymore”

Why not. He is playing poker since he was 19 years old. He is a success story in the world of poker, has made money. Why not doing something else, playing occasionally poker. A good game that you can make money with, but to be honest it is too boring, to be your whole world for the rest of your life... I wonder how so many people are stuck with it, for that long...
It is very true that when you no longer enjoy what you are doing then stop doing it and same for poker too but bad that such big talented player is quiting at such very young age. A lot of people would pay big to be able to play poker like he do. Not many can turn $100 into $10000 as you can see in his video...

If a professional poker player says he's leaving this game and he does not respect what did he say, then it means that man has no credibility. Vanessa Selbst does not have that. Maybe Doug Polk is more serious and he will leave the world of poker. We will see if he will play or not in future.

I also think that if you want to retire just retire not nees to say this on YouTube Facebook or order commercial on television, why you want for all people to kniw you retire, it is your problem and you do what you want. This is my opinion about this situation

Doug Polk is a person who have to announce about his retire. He has a channel on youtube with 217.000 followers and has more fans who should know this. I think he has to respect these fans and it's normal to announce this.

Doug Polk can create movies with strategy, to continue with his channel on youtube. If it does not happen, then the channel will enter in a big fall. It's not the only case, often happens on that site but it would be best to let him know what he will do next with that channel. I mean his fans because i personally do not like his channel, or maybe i did not see what i needed.

And the truth is that if sometimes much of the same tires and you seek to do new things in life, but if you made a good sum of money you could do what you want ... I wish I had a part only what all the good poker players, everything you could do as trips, know other places and other

I think personally that people have to do what they really want, if it is situation that he wants to stop playing, goof stop then ,but if you wajt to start again start, no problem here. Many unknown people do this all time but different here is only because he is known player

People if they want to learn strategy for poker hold'em texas or omaha, they can search the internet in many places with money or free. Doug Polk is not the only one who offers such a thing. If his fans or amateurs will pay, will receive good lessons, do not have to watch only on youtube.
Well, for me pokher is just like any other game or video game I played in my life. Sometimes I feel like playing and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I stop for 6 months untill the motivation comes back then I start playing again. In my experience, if you play too much of something you'll eventually get bored of it in the long run.
You have to have different passions, and not abuse the stuff you love otherwise you might not love it for long. Just try to be a well-rounded human being and always try to find new stuff that you like to do because old hobbies can get old

Well everything depends on what you plan to do, suddenly start a family and you need time for it, and I already form a bank account for it, also says that it will come back in the future we can take it as a sabbatical year, that it will be successful in everything that is projected into your life

I think he's bored with this world of poker and for lost time online or when playing live. To be honest with a few million dollars you can do a lot. You can move into a beautiful mountain area or in an area where you have the ocean close. It is possible for him to return to poker, if he does not have big plans.

I think that he build a big academy, the Upswing, that sells a different kind of learning material on all supported type, that depends a lot of his winner´s image. So I think that he is trying to keep his image without any bad news and spend his time establishing his company. When it could work alone, he will return to the tables

I do not know what plans Doug Polk has but i saw that he was retiring for a while, not definitively. I understand when he says he's bored with poker but he can deal more with his personal life. It is ugly to have money and not spend time in different places in the world as a tourist. I would do that but he does not know what he wants. He's a very good player, if he has won millions dollars from poker.
