Indeed any profit is better than a loss. But when you are comparing a 1 dollar
profit with 10000. then there is a huge difference Smile
The year is almost out, but he can hit a good result by the end also Smile
Will be a great way to start the new year, with some extra money in his bankroll.

Yes Mober, you have the reason because he plays -if I well understand- almost always MTTs tournament, where the first prize is hundreds of time the cost of the buy-in. Despite I make some advice about playing over his bankroll, he plays big tournament so he can an accurate shot in a modality where is a lot of variance and everything is possible! Blink

Well, I do count my year between 1 December and 30 November. Now due to my early cashout I've decided to already start next years grind, and that on a much smaller bankroll then I had hoped, all due to my financial situation.

In any case, I'm gonna stick to my 100 Buy-in rule for MTTs. If I would reach a point where I can play $5.50 games, I'm gonna stop there and before I move up to the next stake I'll gather 200 Buy-ins.

My starting bankroll for this year was at $22 and it's now sittning at $29.XX so it's going in the right direction. Next step is to reach $55 so I can start playing the $0.55 games.

Good plan erru9107! As I told you, I think that 100 BI is a little risky if you only play MTTs and you only have this bankroll for all the year. But, as you said, you play to make money for Christmas's gifts, so it´s fine! And you don´t like SnG? I think you´re playing in PP, and there the SnGs are too expensive, but in 888poker there are SnGs since $ 0,10. This game needs 30/40 minutes for each one so, at the same time you play an MTTs, you could play a lot of SnG Blink

Yeah, I think it's kinda risky as well but on these low stakes, the opponents are really bad, I've got an edge on at least 80% of the field I think. I could probably make money playing at the $5.50 stake as well, but every single time I'm getting close to that, I've had to make a withdrawal due to some financial issues so I haven't really had the opportunity to test it out. I'm hoping that this time around will be different and that I can pay for some christmas presents and still keep enough money on my account to actually play at some decent levels.

I like SnG but I don't really like mixing types of games in one and the same session, I usually get a little bit unfocused if I do. So it's better for me to just stick to the MTTs.

It is not a calendar year you are talking about Smile
That is the same also when you are talking about goals, a year's time.
So you are on with your new season Smile
Good luck with it, and dont start experimenting now that your bankroll is low.
Leave that for later Smile

Yeah I'm gonna avoid any silly mistakes and stick very strictly to my bankrole management rule. I'm also gonna put all of my efforts towards getting back into / perfecting my MTT play. I still feel that even tho I do get good results from time to time, I'm still far behind what I was when I played these a few years ago.

------------
I'm probably gonna devert just a tiny bit from the plan now that the KO-series is about to start. Due to work I can really only play 2 days of the promo period and on those days I can only play 3 of the tournies. A $5.50 thanks to the free ticket I've got and two $1.10 ones.

This isn't such a big deversion and the potential profit is much higher so I think it's worth the small risk. The only time I'll do some of these diversions will be during a series where the potential profit outweighs the higher risks. This is one of these times, especially since I won't be risking more the $2.20 in total. The $5.50 ticket could land me a really good prize!

------------
20/11
22:00 $5.50
22:00 $1.10

21/11
22:00 $1.10

BRM time.

The good thing is that you are predetermined on your moves,
and you dont play whatever.
This helps a lot keeping your bankroll healthy.
There will be seasonal promotions every where soon, so that may help,
your bankroll with some extra tickets etc. ;0
Good luck again.

Yeah, just making some stupid plays without any consideration about the implications it might have is really not a good thing! If I make any out-of-management moves, they will have been thought about and a proper risk/reward assesment will have been done.

In any case, I will be using that $5.50 ticket tonight and even a min cash there would significantly boost my bankroll!

------------
Just busted out in both games within 5 minutes of each other. $8.48 profit for the day. Really bad considdering how well I was playing. My reads were really solid all the way through, I just got outdrawn on the river too many times after putting my opponent all-in pre-flop or at the flop. Had only half of those pots gone my way I could have been looking at a really good finish but it just wasn't in the cards for me today. Still tho, $8+ is good enough and my bankroll is now sitting at $36.94. Slow and steady my bankroll is growing.

I did learn something tho, that with a sufficient enough bankroll I could be profitable at the $5.50 stake which I suspected. I'm not only saying that because I cashed in this one, it's after observing the skill level at the players in that tourney. Sure, some may have just taken a shot at that level due to the promo but still, the over all skill level isn't that different from the $1.10 games which I know I beat.

So now it's just a matter of getting my bankroll big enough to handle those stakes! It's only a matter of time really and for next christmas I might not have to cashout my bankroll! I just got a pretty decent raise at work and I'm lowering my monthly payments by $200, plus after midsummer I'll be able to lower them another $250. Basically, my poker money is earmarked for nothing but poker until I reach the stake where I feel comfortable and where I'm making most of my money.

Just calculated my ROI at the $0.22 MTTs since I started with the $22 bankroll. It's currently at 114.09% after 20 games. It's that one final table that did this but it's kinda fun looking at a ROI of over 100% Big Smile

@StheP: You seem to have been doing extremely well at Breakout Poker. I might consider reopening my Breakout Poker. What exaclty are these numbers ($18,413.02 and $1,965.22)? Are these your net winnings (total winnings - tournament buy-ins and fees)?

Got a 9th place on a $0.22 MTT for just over $1.30. Not bad but I'm really disapointed, I felt like I had the final table locked up before I got outdrawn on the river 3 times in a row and after that I was shortstacked and couldn't salvage the Final Table.

Good luck next time I guess! I've yet to win a tournament since I got back into playing them but I'm slowly getting my skill level back to where it used to be so I think a win isn't that far off!

@StheP: Don't get me wrong. I didn't mean to pry into your personal business. You are under absolutely no obligation to answer my inquiry. There are several websites that track online poker tournament result, anyway. Good luck on your poker journey.

Tony_MON7ANA if you get sick with the 888poker software, you will be mad with the Break Out Poker`s soft Big Smile And erru9107, good for you with that results! I thought in your situation and the advice that I gave you about the bankroll`s manage when I read an article named "Tankroll". This is a strategy that uses small bankroll and does shots for the high levels Blink

After a re-entry I had a disapointing min cash of only $0.46 so a profit of just $0.02 which isn't good at all. But I guess it's better then a loss at least. Hoping for another Final Table soon, I could really need a good score.

Well, I guess it wasn't meant to be yesterday... QQ lost against 62, QQ again and lost against JJ, KK busted against KQ, AK lost against AJ, AA with A on the flop lost against some hand I can't even remember but it was really bad, he got four spades on the table so he got the win with a flush.

Basically nothing worked out for me, the only good luck I had all night was the very first hand I played which was KK vs J3 and it held so I got a bounty out of it. But that's all it was.

I guess I'm gonna have to try again tomorrow. A really bad thing tho is that there seems to be no more $0.22 MTTs so I have to play the $1.10 ones even tho I don't really have the bankroll for it. But it's the same stake at SnGs as well so I'm gonna stick it out at the MTTs and hope for a big score!

Another run getting close to FT but it's just not enough. Finished in 14th. Busted against a guy who went all-in pretty much every hand, even with 72 and J3 and K7 and crap like that. I got dealt AQs so I figured it was my shot, of course the one time I did call he had a good hand and showed AK and out I went. I made $6.69 on that MTT and buy-in was $1.10 så a decent profit.

All in all after Party stoped hosting the $0.22 games I've played 5 $1.10 games and have a combined cashing of $6.96 which means $1.46 profit.

I'm playing way outside of my bankroll here due to these buy-ins so I could really use a good win soon!
