Well he has the name of the detective. Instead of accepting him in his house, he could easily go to the police station, to check out if the whole story is true, and then follow up from there. Ans again why the need to post that online in the first place?

I agree, seems strange to post this online? Is he doing as he is publically protecting himself and others from such a scam. My first port of call, would be the police station, then make a public statement in front of the police station, or better still stand there and get my lawyer to make the statement.
I like Doyle, and hope he takes this sort of thing away from the game? Is the poker room in question fed up of him winning, more than likely.
Lastly, if I was Doyle, never go to that room again, and persuade my friends within the game to use another room too. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

I have the impression that this is an extortion of money. I do not think it's a mistake, since the detective is real and someone made a bad joke, to scare Doyle Brunson and to make him to pay that money. These people who scares octogeners should be hospitalized to the mental institution.

Strange situation i think personally, of course first time you hear about such call yiu can think it is not real situation, but then you check facts it is not nice. You start to feel scary small time maybe big time because now therw are many psychopaths
some kind of detective story really ... of course, such calls get a little scared ... but it can be usually a practical joke ... just a joke ... but this is some kind of cruel joke ... let's see what happens next. ... I hope that Doyle Brunson will be all right
I heard weirder stories from others about owing money to someone who could not get pleased easier altough none of them contained Doyle as a participant in it... What more concerning that they treat this as a terrorist act and not some lunatic's ravings.

You can not joke with the lives of men, threatening them with death and saying you owe them money. Since you threatened a person with death, this can be interpreted as a terrorist act. These threats must not exist, because many will do the same. A hard law will prevent many persons from threatening to death by phone.
